I have had these type of HP laptops in every job and I must say don't buy it. Just because of the screen. It is what you look at everyday and they are quite simply horrendously bad. Other than that they have good compromises in my opinion.

I've just returned mine, because the screen is way too bright at the bottom and makes all light colours look white, did you experience this, I'm trying to work out if my one was faulty or the whole model is just badly made?

@@TwiddleJones All of them always washed out the colors pretty aggressively, I wouldn't pint point it to the bottom tho, rather the angle. Moving the screen slightly up or down, or you yourself moving would reveal a washed-out side on the monitor. Indeed adding a white layer on top of the colors, you can reproduce it at the sizes too quite easily if you move left and right (you just naturally don't do this much so you don't really notice it).

Thanks for the comments. Two RAM module slots and one M.2 slot. There is space for a 2.5" drive but on certain lower end models there is no SATA connector for this. Thanks! LoL can run over 70 fps in 720P low settings. 1080P around 47 fps. The Vega 3 GPU is entry level performance.

Both should play OK on the Ryzen Vega GPU. Might be worth getting the Ryzen 5 with better Vega graphics if you want to play a few games.

Just came across your video, very informative thank you. Bought the same laptop around last week, but am really dissapointed about the video brightness qualiy, it's really bad, don't know what to. This costed me €509 ( The last time i checked on Amazon today, the price it's now €549 ). Everybody or anything on the screen looks all white. It's there any way i can increase the brightness quality of the web cam as well as the video qaulity? Or is there any special app i can buy or download to help get this HD video qaulity. This review model pre-pandemic was classed as a budget laptop, hence the display was one item where cost cutting took place. Webcams with any laptop have always been poor, best to get an external 1080P webcam instead.

Mine is 6. I didn't find option in BIOS so it probably depends on region. But rather leave something to the integrated GPU. This laptop would be great with 16GB RAM. I only hit that RAM because of emulators. BlueStacks and VirtualBox.

don't buy this, it is good on paper and is fine for the first year or so but eventually after a while it starts to have performance issues, i haven't worked out why it has lost performance but it is very slow after a bit over the year. this probably has something to do with the fact that cpu was at 90-100% for the entirety of lockdown but it should not struggle to have like 5 chrome tabs open. over all this laptop is rubbish for the price after any amount of time i reccommend you buy a slightly more expensive laptop that will last longer, it could be just me that has this issue but it is not as good as it seems.

It's amazing, if you are going to use it for that it's the best option. I use it as a secondary machine for a few hours of gaming (GTA V and Football Manager) and watching movies daily, and it never had any problems.

I manage a 1080p Premiere Pro video on it with no problem. Encoding will be slower on the Ryzen 3 CPU. Ryzen 5 CPU and min 16GB would be recommended if you will be editing videos frequently.
