Dover Impulse HIGHDRAULIC Elevators at Museum of Natural Science Parking Garage in Houston, TX.

Video Recorded on October 27, 2021: 9-10 years later, I FINALLY get a much better updated take! I'm so glad I got this because I recently got a word that these are now getting modernized by Schindler. As you can tell, these elevators TOTALLY resembles the Market Parking Garage! Only exception is that they don't list the numberings from G to 6 if you see the comparison. If I hadn't been back here sooner, these would already be gone by now and I'll never have any second chances to see these while on its last legs. Installed in the 90's, in the process of modernization this year.

thank you for documenting this elevator🥹these buttons are very special to me, i was heartbroken to see on my most recent visit that there are new elevator buttons. it is very rare to see them anymore, but even when i see them other places, it is at the museum where they were most special to me.

Possibly. I’ll check next month to see what they’re doing. But considering these are hydraulic elevator‘s, it may be a possibility that it’s a Schindler HXpress.

@@JimLiElevators these are Highdraulic 7 floors. Similar to the Market Garage but these are from 1-7. The ones in the Market Garage are G-6

I swear I remember 15 years ago going in an elevator at this museum at it was shaky as hell and I was a kid and thought dinosaurs were attacking it For a second I thought it was a fever dream as I was trying to remember it

Couple things to say about this one 1. The reason these are likely getting modernized probably has to do with the fact that Thyssenkrup discontinued the parts for these very recently, and if these broke they wouldn't be able to get parts for it. Atleast its schindler and not a generic company :) 2. Dover impulses are probably going to become vintage at somepoint soon. Once we cross 2025, the first impulses will count as vintage elevators. Anyways back onto these elevators. I would really like you to try to get the parts especially for the fact that impulse is getting hader and harder to find, and especially those lanterns. Are these older or newer impulse? 3. I don't like modernizations, but do you think you could see what Schindler came in and did when they are done?

I don’t really think Schindler is gonna do a great mod on these. Schindler maintains a 2006 KONE elevator at the Vancouver mall. And it’s turned into a real piece of crap since it was maintained, seriously. In late 2019 it was in mint condition. And now the call button the second floor is broken on it.

I just filmed and rode the modernized Schindler’s and they are terrible the floor vibrates when it’s going up

Very unfortunate that these impulses are getting modernized, but I'm sure Schindler will do a nice job on it unlike some poor quality company like dewhurst
