Idk if this is for all music schools but when I learned drums sometimes they’d say fuck the sheet music if the students couldn’t read it and would beatbox like that guy did because hearing the sound and timing was easier for them to pick up and then they’d go back with the beatboxing and sheet music so maybe that’s how

Nate Heckman Musicians must be willing to put ego aside, listen to one another, and play to the best of their ability what’s right for each song in each moment 😁 the guitarist in this case Dovydas was not being condescending in any way.

Nate Heckman he's a musician. Musicians should be helping eachother. It's how bands work. It's how you get on the same page when you want to cover something.
@martyjehovah

Nate Heckman he's not acting like the drummer is stupid, he recognizes that they don't speak exactly the same (musical) language, and he is in the simplest way possible trying to explain how to imitate a third language.

Jordan Church not everyone has the knowledge you fucking have. Everyone knows certain things better and certain things worse. It's like you ask a 3d world kid what his favorite youtuber is. Or that kid asking you if you know how to make sand cookies or what the hell they even eat. He did totally nail it tho. I couldn't imagine a better trap drummer with an actual drumset. Big ups to you barefoot.

I'm not just impressed by the improvisational skills, I'm genuinely moved by the fact that rather than shoot down a legitimate style of music (he could have easily ignored a request for hip hop/rap because a lot of people dismiss it) he actually paid homage to it. This is in some way the future. The ability of humans to find similarities in differences and appreciate all the variety that different cultures and walks of life have to offer. This is fucking amazing. This is the power of music.
