I love how your pigs are fighting for the Chicory roots and leaves . How deep can they dig for the Chicory roots? Does Chicory survives after a deep hog rooting ?

I raise Berkshire and Berkshire Cross. Mine found a comfrey patch. I have massive craters where it was

The stand thins the longer the pigs are on the chicory and rooting.

I remember a time when it was all the rage to have chicory in coffee and barbecue charcoal. In Pennsylvania, chicory is found in great quantities, as a weed, along the interstate...

It’s found in a lot off places along highways from what I understand. Some people get mad at me for planting it because they consider it a weed.

It works beautifully with fescue and clover in my experience.

i just watched your other Video on Buckwheat; i like the idea of buckwheat...and i knew a little about that crop but you certainly added to my education... but this Chicory i was not aware of how beneficial it is to the soil...i just bought some Acreage in south central Arkansas; and want to raise Goats to get started farming. i had a hand full of goats when i lived in Oklahoma as a hobby. i know goats can eat almost anything, but was wandering if you knew if they can tolerate Buckwheat ??? and if they can, should i limit their consumption???

Grows all over my pasture My cattle pick at it a little bit.

That’s been my observation as well. When there’s a little bit of it they eat it all, but they generally do not consume a lot.
