Down by the glenside, I was beset on by the ghosts of donkeys from years past, and the chorus of them had me in my cups for a good long hour. The tears be streaming down my jowls, and I took my brogues back up the trail to my donkey Rainbow in his stall, and as he chomped on a carrot, I sang him the Bold Fenian Men

This was my Grandad's favourite song and I remember my mam telling me how he used to play it in the house. Sadly I never had the pleasure of meeting of meeting him, as he had passed before I was born. Thanks Paddy for this beautiful rendition and for all the beautiful songs you post. ❤ 🇮🇪 💚 x
