I agree. Maybe not yop ten but couple of weeks show a 2 or three treasures in his collection. That way the excitement doesn't run out after one episode.

Here's a Finland connection story: My late friend TF Knight owned German Army General Waldemar Erfurth's Finnish made taylored uniform that still had the ribbon bars and sewn on German Cross in Silver. Erfurth was in command of German troops stationed in Finland. He told me if I remember correctly that he traded a Dizzy Dean baseball contract straight up for the tunic, which was found in a trash bag in a house in east Texas, found by a guy doing some remodel work. When Mr Knight passed away in 2016, I acquired his entire German photo collection, many of the photos I had sold him over the years. Also included were letters written to Mr Knight from German generals and officers that he had written to back in the 1950s. Some of these ex soldiers would send him copies or originals of their award documents, uniform pieces, photos, etc. Absolutely amazing! The general's tunic and original photo I managed to find with Erfurth and Mannerheim went to his childhood friend and I don't know what ever happened to the uniform.

Hi again, Mr. Wittman, the words "Einj. - Freiw. Krahn" on the bayonet at 59:12 are confusing because the first two words (that are hyphenated) are an abbreviation of "Einjährig - Freiwilliger" (or "One-Year Volunteer" (from the city of) Krahn. Another great video, thanks!

To get your book "Exploring the Dress Daggers of the German Army" in Europe was quite a feat. I could buy a mint late SA dagger for the price I've seen it sell for. And I'm not surprised, it's an amazing piece of your work. Luckily I auctioned it off for a very good price. Thank you so much for the knowledge you are imparting. These videos are daily relaxation and pleasure for me.

All this discussion about the Olympic knifes could end immediately, if there would be any find in an untouched estate or inheritance in Germany. Unfortunately, none until today :-(

I always thought that as many pictures that were taken around the 1936 Olympics there should have at least been one photo or one tourist that brought one back. I dont think either of these have ever surfaced. I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

Morning Mr Whitman and Rob. Another great show from you and you never fail to entertain n explain all the items you show us. I love all the flags and I can't understand why the Russians destroyed everything. There would be so much more of memorabilia. It's a big loss of history. They were too much involved in destroying it all. All the best from Phillip Colley in the UK 🔥 🔥 🔥

Hi Tom/Ob, I get that GI's would liberate nazi daggers as war trophies, but I dont understand why you so much imperial edged weapons. Was it just the fact that any edged weapon was considered a good war trophy, and the period didn't mattet.

Tom; I asked the question about the Swaz last week; isn’t it amazing you’d get a flag with the “square” Swaz and “diamond” Swaz on the same flag…quite amazing!! Back to the flags….since “the blood flag” was so important to their mythology, if any flag could be thought of as “official” the way the Swaz hangs on this flag would be it?…and do we know where that flag ended up?
