With a good result under our belt at the first property, it was time to head down the road again, to our next trapline. We were sure keen to see what lay ahead over the next week or more.

Big call to show the trapped dog that suffered to death in your lost trap. You could have easily missed it or swept it under the rug but you shared it with everyone, well done. I trap a bit for mates and have learned a lot from your trapping channel. Thanks and well done

Great vlog as always Clarkie mate. The philosophy that we don't know everything about our different work or hobbies and that we learn something everyday is so very very true. There's no shame in asking for advice or gaining new insights, or in making mistake and learning from them. Only arrogant feckers in this World claim to know everything, and those stnuc aren't worth squat. Peace out from the UK Clarkie.

Ever see any ghosts out there? I was tending my campfire in my woods and my stock dog was somewhere close and I was glancing around kind of looking for him. I saw what I at first 1/2 second thought may be an albino deer. Then of course I realized that deer have a bucking motion of their rump as they run and the white figure which I saw was six feet from the ground and just gliding thru the woods. Then I saw my amazing cow dog 'Jett' HE WAS CHASING THE GHOST! Those dark roads out there look a little spooky haha. I like to have 5 to 7 dogs. Mountain lions, bears and other predators will think twice before trying anything.

Any camera info is better than none. Reflect on the relevant learning curve speed. If concerned about camera shyness "invisible" flash models where relevant. Having stakes (waratahs etc) to put them where you want to helps. Off normal line of sight preferred. Missing traps is normal for many, when trappers are active. When prices are up the also-rans get busy and not only forget some traps or do 3 day lines, they steal others traps. You Tube has some experts whose presence is coincidental with that behaviour. And the cut lunch syndrome. Ironic when most are vehement anti poison advocates, yet will leave lines of trapped meltdowns. When doing larger lines GPS and backup helps.

Bit of a shame loosing that dog, weather your trapping or hunting we allways do our best to not to loose an animal, even if you do your best to look for it sometimes circumstances are just beyond our control. Atleast you got your trap back lol, maybe even get a few dollars from the farmer now you got a kill to prove.👍

G’day from Spain ..👍. We all make the odd mistake mate , if you have done everything you could and done it to the best of your ability who’s to call you out ? It’s the same with shooting , people that say they have never missed or pulled a shot are either liars or don’t shoot much ..

Look at the bright side , no hunter is perfect . All hunters try their best to be humain to their target spiecies and bycatch . Ocasionaly we fail to live up to our own expetations , to err is human . To learn from our mistakes and not repeat the mistake is the important lesson . The bright side is you caught the target spiecies and you got your missing trap back . A small mistake that came up as a win in the long run . BEST WISHES FROM AN OLD KIWI HUNTER WHO APPRECIATES YOUR DEDICATION TO YOUR CHOSEN PROFFESSION .

FYI; great piece of Hamlet reminiscing of an old friend Alas poor Yorik’ monologue spoken by Hamlet, Hamlet Act 5 Scene 1: Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! my gorge rims at it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs? your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now, to mock your own grinning? quite chap-fallen? Now get you to my lady’s chamber, and tell her, let her paint an inch thick, to this favour she must come; make her laugh at that.
