I own a a/v company and I will never recommend a y other brand. Svs is so well built and they stand behind their products unlike any manufacturer that I have dealt with in my 24 year career. I have a customer that bought a pb16 ultra used from an individual. It worked flawlessly until it developed a very light buzz that was only noticeable during certain action scenes. We called svs and they honored the warranty which is fully transferable no questions asked they shipped a brand new replacement that was received in a week and paid for return shipping on the damaged unit..... And they started my customers warranty over with the new unit. I was prepared to argue and I was blown away because I have never had a warranty honored so smoothly especially with just the cost of shipping. Industry leading equipment and top tier customer service!

SVS has the best customer service. My SB 4000 subwoofer was having an issue after six years I contacted SVS hoping they would help me and they came through with flying colors they sent a new amp plate, and now my city is reporting mini earthquakes when my subwoofer is on. Again, thank you, SVS . Now that's customer service.

Svs makes good reasonably affordable products with good service and a warranty. I do see a few individuals say their subs are boomy which is normally an issue with setup whether its placement or room eq/ sub adj. . If you don't use room calibration software than you use the onboard eq, its not that hard to get good results. If you correct "boomy ness" than typically you may end up turning up sub volume. There is mounds of info out there to help with pretty much any home theater subwoofer adjustments. knowledge is power

I bought a SB 13” oh about 5 years ago. It completely rocks my planet! I have a fairly large stretch living room around 15x23’ I suppose. And vaulted ceiling of 12’ ? I have dreamed and dreamed of getting either sb or pb 16”. But now my dreams have expanded lol. Thank you so much SVS for being the best performing and technological producers of unmatched excellence! I truly love my sb 13”. I’ve thrown all genres at it like very loud Metallica, Drake, lower volume jazz and classical. It’s an amazing machine! But I must say SVS you are making me not only dream but drool over getting your new pb 17”! Thanks a lot ! Lol Btw I run all this mostly on my Emotiva basX t100 (model?) and the matching amp. Both in my utube channel. I ALWAYS recommend SVS and hold them in the highest regard. Hands down and thumbs up👍

Their website for this new sub states only down to 12Hz +/- 3dB. In any case, it still makes me drool. I have 2 mismatched subs, both SVS bought 2 yrs apart due to budget. I have the original PC-2000 and when it was released, I got the SB-3000 (easier to place footprint). Originally I bought the PB-1000 but while I found it to be good, it didn’t wow me. When I got the PC-2000, it put a smile on my face. The PC-2000 is great for movies but not tight enough for some of the music I listen to. So I ended up getting the SB-3000, which has been great for music and good for movies. I think in my small space I could get away with swapping out the PC for an SB since my space is relatively small (17.5 ft x 13 ft W x 7.5 ft H. At this point, combined I am enjoying the best of both worlds (room is a dedicated media space). I can tell at times with music is a bit off (for heavy bass songs), but no one else seems to pick up on it and are just wowed by the sound. I have become a SVS fan boy 😊

What does it take to get that 8kHz? Is this at super high volume? Only explosion scenes in a summer blockbuster? Will it come effortlessly on a jazz song at low level volume or will I have to have the system cranked at 125 Db?

Going down to 8Hz means it will be able to handle more manageable cinematic frequencies (like 18-20 Hz) at louder volumes no problem. As opposed to a sub that is only listed with a frequency response down to 18 Hz, which won’t be able to push 18 Hz at normal volumes. 👍

You’ll want a sub to dig down that deep +\- 3 dB so that it can push out cinematic bass hits around 18-20 Hz no problem. A sub that’s listed with a frequency response down to 18 Hz, for example, struggles with actually outputting 18 Hz at reasonable levels. Make sense? 🤘

I find SVS subwoofers far too boomy, I have the SVS PB 2000 Pro and it is too boomy with music in movies and TV shows, so when you lower the bass you loose the effects behind gun shots and fight scenes. Much more tuned for bass heads who like dance club music than movies and TV shows

Funny, I was thinking I was the only one. My Emotiva SE-8 is in use and my SVS PB1000-Pro is disconnected and behind the couch. Do I dare to swap them and try the SVS again? Hmmm🤔 Even sealed, the SVS hasn't been impressive. Like you said, gun shots, cannons, crashes just sounds slow and weak. Tuned, tuned and tuned. Moved, moved and moved. Still not great. I wish I could get another SE-8.

@michael-4k4000 The Eminent Technology sub actually reaches 0 Hz. using completely different technology. I don't know if Bruce Thigpen has those in actual production or not, though. Latter Edit: Yes, the TRW-17 IS available, but it must be professionally installed. And yes, it DOES work ... to DC. Totally different approach. Will output at 95 dB level a 2 Hz signal at 7 meters distance (measured).

8Hz plus or minus 3dB?😂 That litteraly made no sense.. It's either plus OR minus 3dB at 8Hz.. Not both🙈 I also see some design flaud with the bass bassreflex ports getting too close to the top wall. From personal experience that makes problems. And it would often be better using a slot port rather than tube ports. Not to mention look better too. But hey.. It's a insane sub anyway😎 Not just the option I would choose first for pure music listening. And also you should know that the deepest freq depends on the room and placement. You can not just place a sub wherever you want in whatever room to get the best performance. Same with speakers. Same with how deep it can actualy be audible. And technically all subs can go down to 8Hz.. Just at ALOT lower dB... This is basic information. +/- 3dB is the norm when messuring but it should be lower variations in dB since +/- 3dB will start to be quite adible variations.
