He kinda looks like Fred Fintstone......which was based on the Honeymooners...so Brian is like Ralph Cramden. Eyes always bulging in the midst of a tantrum....."Alice to the moon!! Alice!"

Great episode. Love the old Land Rover unlike the feel good models made to-day. 'The horses are hungrier than I am' - how true. I always see to my the domestic animals first before seeing to myself.

this whole show seems to be about a nice family with great kids. but also they had a dad who had one good business idea after many bad ones and was a bull-headed, judgemental, hot-tempered, weak-spirited, quick to quit, impulsive, hypocritical a-hole. or am i missing something?

I met Dudley Sutton in a bookshop in St Just Cornwall. By an amazing coincidence I was looking at a copy of Aldous Huxley's novel the Devils of Loudon. Dudley played the part of the Baron Laubardement in the Ken Russell movie The Devils based on the novel. We chatted for a while and he signed my book. He was very friendly and courteous. Many people don't know that Dudley Sutton was also a very gifted poet.

Oh dear! Is that the way they feed horses in the UK? Most farmers call the horses but put the feed on the ground in piles spaced far enough apart that they don't fight over them. Once they are eating they can go round and give them individual attention.

Dear TV Timelord: Thank you very much for providing such a good family series to those of us in the US who are so tired of programming that is filled with nasty language and gratuitous violence and sex! I wonder if you could improve the closed captioning quality for those of us who miss some words here and there in sound! Thank you most kindly!

Hungry horses In that rich a hay-pasture?? In that all-a-team-of-horses-can-eat pasture, horses stampede their friend whom they know?? Horses didn't stampede people even in battle-fields where they got really scared and exhausted and thirsty and hungry and got killed. Obviously this ignorant screen-play-writer was eager to sell a sensational plot. But the entire cast and director and producer were ALL so deranged as to film this ignorant aberrancy. And the TV station so deranged as to buy it ...

Artistic license? Or perhaps a show for city folks written by city folks? It did seem quite contrived. Molly was in bed, ouchy all over...then right back to feed the horses. Maybe if there were chopped apples and carrots coated with molasses in the bucket? No, not even then.
