We stopped letting our children watch Disney movies in 1998 when we realized that they depicted men (especially fathers) in a negative light. Nearly all of the famous Disney princesses had fathers that were crazy, tyrannical, or dead. Children in most of their films are depicted as wiser, and/or more understanding, than their elders. Some say that the “generation gap” was promoted by Disney films.

I am being drawn into Orthodoxy with ever lighter more willing stepps. I come from a background with no religion or faith talked about. And now i find myself wanting to experience Orthodoxy more and more, yet in my nation there are only a handful of Orthodox churches and most of them are not of my native tongue. I do not wish to come closer to the large cities where all modern insanity is breaking out, i want nothing of that world. At this point i feel kind of alone trying to learn, and although i do not mind being a beginning of sorts.. It would be nice to learn the ways and live the life of Orthodoxy before sharing it with others, i need truths before i speak. In all this, i thank you for your time sharing the knowlage. it matters greatly.

During its Christmas candlelight processional this past year, Disney (through an actor) stated that Christ was "simply a man." We should come together as the church and make entertainment that aligns with our beliefs. Books, magazines, shows, everything. With a little orthodox cross on it, the way food is labeled “kosher”. It doesn’t even have to be religious in nature, just regular stuff, like a regular show with a functioning loving family, that’s not heretical or blasphemous.

I will be bringing my wife and step daughter from Indonesia finally this summer. My wife converted from Islam to Orthodoxy and we will be converting her daughter once here. My biggest fear though is having to put my step-daughter into public school know what they push. I so much want to find a good Christian school to enroll her in but, there is nothing close by where we live.

Obviously talk to your priest, but I think if you can’t find an orthodox school, it’s better to put them in a catholic school than a corrupted public school. Just teach them the differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy and why we believe what we believe over the catholic teachings

My kids go to school. I try to teach them what is good and what is bad, to show them what Bible says and they understand everything well. When I was young I learned at school that we came from monkeys and nobody believed this even the teacher:)

Yep Disney for kids is BIG in China: worked in China and I can confirm that the kids are completely brainwashed by Disney movies!! Some little kids who saw me just on the street (a westerner) wanted to come and hug me because I reminded them of some Disney character! Some of the parents were just smiling inanely at me as thier kids did this and I have NEVER been as creeped out in all of my life! I just felt so sorry for the kids tbh

That’s a Disney thing, and it allows “magic” to be illustrated and imprinted in our kids. This here is a major root. We live in an economy that now demands two incomes to barely scrape by. We are told to have kids but cannot afford to take care of them, once of age, we have to entrust the system to raise our children as they spend more time at school then they do at home. If you think about it, parents really only see their kids on weekends and briefly for a couple hours each weekday. If parents do not raise their children, watch what they watch, listen to, read, and do not build a concrete foundation of a relationship with our Lord and Savior, they are easily converted and manipulated. More now than ever, do parents face the true demise of their home. One must seek the money to live, the consequence, being unable to adequately raise their children and allowing others to raise their kids. It has made both my wife and I extremely hesitant in having children. As we would prefer to homeschool our children at this point. In our home and life, God comes first. Today’s society is attempting to erase Divine Law.
