Im in the market for a battery or a couple of them for an 8k. Thinking about just building one. I want to see real world results. Have these batteries hooked up in a car playing heavy bass decaf more precisely with an alternator charging them. That will determine who the winner is. Real world results. Does battery A charge faster than B? Does battery A hold cutrent better? Or B? For the amount that both are i can build one way bigger

Umm not when space is a big factory.. the 6.0 will fit behind my rear seats in my pickup.. just barley clears in angle of the seat backs and that’s because it’s so short and narrow.. And let be real here.. 22ah at that size? I could do a same size agm battery and pull 45-65 in same size factor. Not apples to apples.. That lto will also drop into the empty space under the carpet at the rear fenders if many cars.. the big Jeff will not.. Infact I can fit two 6.0 in my daughter car this way one one each side just using otherwise useless wasted space.. a lot to be said for the size and making it more useful

@HiFiVector10 ай бұрын
Well keep in mind ALL car batteries max output is rated at 7.2 to 8v. I did not even test that low. But this is useful because you can see what output the battery can provide Standalone. If you look at other car audio manufacturers they rate max output at 7.2v because this has been the automotive industry standard for decades. But I only go to 10v which is way higher voltage than what others rate max output at. But obviously I think testing at 7.2 volts would be silly for car audio. But the 10v test is relevant and even higher than the 7.2v that manufacturers use. So this gives you an idea of a more usable amperage output. And when added to your system with an alternator that will even keep the voltage higher.

I'd be interested in a comparison between the Big Jeff battery and a Glowe Voltage battery. Both about the same price (Glowe is $50 more) but Glowe series 2 claims to support literally 2x the power (Glowe 2 claims to support 12k watts vs Big Jeff claims to support just 6k watts).

Great video as always man and I appreciate your hard work but to be honest what can we do with 10 volts in the car audio business I'm looking at blowing a hamper or something if I'm dropping that low so I don't really understand how that kind of information can help me any but thank you very much for what you do
@HiFiVector10 ай бұрын
I did mention it in the video a couple times but the reason is because all batteries max amp output which is ca or cca is actually rated at 7.2V this is because this has been the industry standard for decades. So when you see any car audio battery like XS agm or others even they rate the max output is at around 8v. No one rates batteries at 12V. I just do the 12v test to provide 2 different tests. So even at 10v , that is higher than what companies rate their batteries at. When installed with an alternator because the alternator is charging is will raise that voltage up. But standalone the batteries are rated at about 8v.

@vegetable20610 ай бұрын
The resting voltage of the lead acid battery is lower than the lithium battery. One battery drains the other when the car is off. You can remove the lead or isolate the lithium. You can directly connect them but if your car sets long enough the alternator is going to go crazy trying to charge the low charge lithium battery. Also if your going to put an isolator in factor in the ohms of resistance of the isolator into your all around loss to get proper power to amps.

You can add these to your system as a 2nd battery yes. And they will charge by your alternator just like any other battery. It’s a good idea to use a battery isolator for the lithium when using with a standard battery so when the car is off the regular battery doesn’t drain the lithium down.
