DOWNHILL FORKS ON MY DIRT JUMP BIKE - THE ULTIMATE MTB?

Downhill forks on my dirt jump bike - The ultimate MTB? I fit some Fox 40 DH forks on my jump bike and ride urban MTB freeride spots, MTB trails and a skatepark to see how well the bike would perform, would you ride this?
I fit some Fox 40 suspension forks to my custom Haibike dirt jump bike and go for a shred session around some fun mountain bike trails and urban MTB freeride lines in my hometown of Colchester, Essex. I start the video off with some bike maintenance and get the forks fitted in no time at all. From here we jump straight into the action and try to pull off some tricks at the local skatepark bowl, which ends in a few crashes and a very close call! The next port of call is the classic stair set of doom which I hit to test out how well the forks work and considering I only have suspension on the front it really did become a mega smooth to ride. From here we head into the woods to ride some trails and fun jib locations under the trees, the bike ended up handling super well which is very surprising considering the front end has been lifted so much, but with the addition of the front brake it really was a delight. To finish off the video we head to Ipswich to the local BMX track which is in need of your help to get the funding to make the ultimate track!!

@@dylandavis9501 i dont know. Maybe a different model. I had the trail series with a 4 piston front, 2 piston rear and everyone said they were good. In my experience sram or shimano of similar cost just work better. Also:. The BEST trials riders don't need the best brakes.

I got a lot of complaints on one of my videos for doing that. I'm sure it "can" be an issue but I've never actually seen any issues with people bumping up 20-40mm of travel. People literally worried about an extra 20mm of travel breaking the frame but then turn around and huck their xc bike 10' to flat with 0 concerns...

A lot of people love Sam pilgrim for how funny he is and amazing but if you look past all his goofiness he is really the best dirtjumper there is - if you look at his competitions that he’s won and his ability to do any trick of of any old jump most people wouldn’t even look at you’ll realize he is really the best. HUGE mistake by magura for letting him go.

Yep! A friend of mine had a Heavy Tools with an RST dual crown fork and I think that might have been one of the few HT frames designed with that in mind. He could really ride it though, so nobody could criticise him! I remember we spent all day riding a jump we'd built, trying to maybe get a tweak in or something, when suddenly he showed up, looked it over once, then sent a massive no hander over it. He was the dirtjumping boss of the town!

That was an interesting experiment Sam and for something similar, check out Ali Clarkson’s video of him riding his blue Inspired Hex street trials bicycle with the suspension front forks, that too was a worthwhile experiment.
