I'm a Ducati tech and I can help you, the charcoal canister can be removed, all you have to do is take it off and plug the hose that is sucking air, just take a bolt put a little silicone on it and plug the hose that is sucking air. The gas tank issue can be solved as well take it off drain the gas put k100 in it and let it sit in the sun for a few hours and it will shrink. US gas is horrible and ethanol fucks shit up. Let me know how it works...

To remove the backpack scratches, get 3M rubbing compound and a buffer. If it is light haze, it should buff out. If it does not look "perfect" afterwards, buy the 3M wet sand assortment pack up to 2000 grit. The 1500 or 2000 should get the deepness out. It will look like a white blotch, really ugly. Now take your 3M rubbing compound and buff it once or twice and it will look new. Good luck and take care, should only cost a few bucks if you do not have the items already. If you need a video, look up "cut and buff."

The gas tank thing is a huge downfall about my Monster. My plastic tank doesn't have a plastic cover, it's just one piece. With the ethanol in the gas, it's actually permanently deformed the tank so that it doesn't fit on the bike properly anymore and shows signed of deformation over the surface of the tank. At a glance, you wouldn't be able to notice, though.

Here's #11: Bought a brand new 2013 Ducati Diavel from Coleman Powersport in Woodbridge Virginia. After just 81 miles it got overheated due to a faulty thermostat. The dealer replaced the thermostat and checked the bike over, but it continued to have other issues. I took the bike back to the dealer a few times, called them numerous times, and finally decided to cut my loss and sold the bike for pennies. And that was my last Ducati!

i ended up getting rid of my diavel last summer, the fender is able to easily be removed i think it took me about 6 minutes and it was maybe 6 bolts, you could probably take it off and paint it or wrap it or dip it a different color, the key fob was alright, but mine was all screwed up and with it in my pocket i had to lean as far froward as possible to get it to register, i had the exact same exhasut and it would scrape a little bit for me too, i loved my diavel and had a lot of fun on it but i was a little too big on it and i just couldn't afford the upkeep for the bike so i ended up trading it for an r1 track bike and a triumph 955i with a bunch of extra parts and a few helmets at my local dealer

My 2015 Monster 1200: 1. From day one! Every time I'd pull in the clutch lever, engine would shut off! Let's say, I'm cursing at 47 MPH, 4300 RPM in 3rd, and want to drop a gear or two, as soon as I pull the lever in, RPM would drop below 1350 and engine would die! This is dangerous. The rear tire would lock up and you know what happens if you are in a turn... 2. One of the passenger pegs would unfold itself, once you begin to ride and it still does. 3. False neutrals and problem finding neutral (no solid click to indicate neutral). 4. Very difficult to lock the seat back in after you take it off. I eventually came up with my own method of locking it. 5. Headlight LED's kept shutting off and they eventually died, headlight cable had to be extended.

Said this awhile ago, wish you'd post more videos of you on that beast. Sounds amazing.
@ronaldjesse98929 жыл бұрын
For the guys with false neutral issues.... Keep your foot a bit longer on the shift lever. If you let the clutch go before lifting your foot it will not end up in the false neutral.

Although the ground clearance does worry me at times. You should try the boulevard seat. It's awesome. Lower, cups you very well and helps you stay in the seat, and very comfortable. I have more natural padding of course, but it is still a great seat. I love your clutch cover Knew I should have gotten that one. Ducati offers a carbon version of that "fender" (a rear mudguard) as an accessory. It's also smaller (it doesn't go as far back). At least here in Europe. They offer some other CFRP (carbon) parts as well. As for another "fob". You can buy a spare one, have them cut it and program it. It shouldn't be a problem. I hope I understood you correctly that (you think) you can't change these things. Not that you can. :-) It's sometimes hard to tell.

Polish your solo cowl, no need to repaint. If you have or know someone who has an electric or pneumatic automotive polisher it will do the job. if scratches are deeper you can wet sand with 2500 grit sandpaper then polish, just be careful not to sand off the clearcoat... take your time

@TempestOverlandAdventures9 жыл бұрын
+downshift83 Ah yes I see the carbon finish is matte, what about the red painted portion, looks gloss in the vid? you can still polish by hand with a microfiber cloth and rubbing compound to try to remove the scratches. Even better, 3m also has a product called "Trizact foam disc p3000 grit" that you can wet sand it and not polish and will give you the matte finish and remove the scratches. You would need to tape off the red painted area before sanding to avoid sanding that area. I can hook you up with the foam sandpaper and explain it in detail if you want. I work in the automotive paint business. send me a message if you want

I'd honestly rather have a key for mine...the key fob is kind of hit or miss and the damned steering lock works whenever it wants to....or not. I agree about the three bond as well. There is a solution though - You can buy a replacement cover plate for the secondary oil filter so you'll never have to use the three bond bullshit again during an oil change. I had to drill out the four bolts to that cover on both my 1098 and my Diavel so the cover plate is actually worth the $40 imho. The exhaust valve I got rid of by buying an Openflash tablet. Makes the bike run nice and smooth on the low end and it ads around 15HP to the mid-range too.

ChrisShredGuitar i think ducatis sound like shit :p like a tractormotor on 2 wheels i like the sound of inline fours how they scream at high rpms it sounds like they deliver the maximum amout of power while almost killing themselves to do that. They're giving it all. Ducatis on the other hand sound like oversized dirtbikemotors or sth like that. I know there are inline four ducatis and i like their sound. they just dont deliver the sound of racing, where its about performance at all costs. Whats beastly and brutal to you looks oversized and unreasonable to me. I like bikes because they're lightweight, agile and got a sick Power-to-weight ratio If i want a big ass heavy driving thingy with alot of power and deep sound i'd rather go for a dodge ram srt10
