Notice that he kept saying that that truck likes to shift that way. You have to know your truck. The old timers always told me that every truck has its own personality. They said you can have 5 of the same model trucks all spec'd the exact same, and each one of them would act differently or have their own personality. Knowing you truck also means knowing your motor and your transmission. Some are mean to shift high and some low. So know your specs!

I've always been a floater myself. But whatever works. The armchair experts will argue either way. A couple million miles and never broke a drivetrain component.

I'm a floater myself don't matter what truck engine trans. I use the clutch to take off/stop that's it after that my left foot only comes off the floor if I have to stop/take off

A friend of mines dad used to have an old detroit in one of his trucks. Things the opposite. Likes to shift high a d hard. His dad told him to shift it like he was mad at it and he never had an issue with it

Every time I try double clutching, I end up mucking everything up. But I can float nice and smooth as long as I'm slow and pay attention. Every once in a while, I get in a rush going down, and I'll miss 4th or 5th.

Make sure its all the way in the gear - make a horrid noise when they jump out 3rd or 7th is almost always the gear that does it - if you miss go for a gear above miss 3rd go for 4th then back to 3rd remember the box is heavy and moving --- your truck sounds great

Great tutorial!! If you have a CAT engine and you are rushing your shifts , you need a POS Volvo motor.some of the best drivers I have run into have a CAT engine and they respect it

I don't use the clutch and i use the jake for upshift and downshift. And i use every gear every time.
