I test drove one of these and will probably buy it. None of your negatives bothered me at all. I also will get the SE with no options necessary. I don't need a sunroof etc.... does nothing for me. I have shopped around and for me personally this can't be beat.

One thing that you didn’t point out that will be a huge thing for buyers to be aware of is that there is no spare tire in the hybrid. This is big problem for Toyota. Yes they have the Safety Sense program but how do I deal with a blown/flat tire?
@substanceo93354 ай бұрын
Buy a spare.
@stevecolley59904 ай бұрын
@@substanceo9335 that’s an option but then I need to allocate space to that on any longer distance trip. It seems like the hybrid wiring could have been arranged to allow for the small spare many other cars utilize.

The RAV4 is certainly more practical. However, people with a budget won’t be disappointed with the Corolla Cross. It has a very nice design in my opinion. Right now I just need something to trade in 3 years down the road to buy the Plug in prime.

Surfer here. Blue Crush is a surprisingly good movie. It’s not Big Wednesday, but still an entertaining watch. Nice review… I like the Corolla Cross Hybrid, especially for the mpg and living in an urban environment like LA. It’s small enough for compact parking spaces, but big enough for a surfboard or bike.

Coming from a blown up 2014 Mazda 3 sedan, that had no features at all, including a nonfunctional radio. It was a manual transmission, probably the only cool thing about it. Got into a black 2023 LE last week, and I’m in love. Night and day difference

It is weird when drifting snow is involved covering up the shoulder, trying to align itself when one has to use both lanes to avoid entrapment in a snow drift the steering wants to correct itself from following the broken lines in the center while following a snow plow in front of me. I enjoy the brightness of the head lamps at night, improved visability and auto high beam. You cannot leave windows open to reduce trapped heat from sun light since if it rains the seats can contain water than could cause electricution or water to form under the rear seat and over time will corode circuits and react with the lithium fighting a blaze or an untimely explosion killing occupants. I installed wind deflectors to allow me the option to leave my windows slightly opened to prevent rain invading the interior as well as reducing trapped heat inside. And also added projector lamps on all doors so when parking at night motorists can spot me opening my door and to light the area beneath my feet. I also want to get water repellent seat covers for added protection from rain when entering and exiting my vehicle. I am impressed with oil changes which occur every 10,000 miles.

I’ve test driven both, and bought a cross hybrid. It has a better drive assist function and is overall a smoother ride. And I say that as someone who has owned 3 Subarus. If I lived in heavy snow areas, I’d get a Subie, but this Cross hybrid is more than enough in 90% of the country.
@nighthawkvc25a Жыл бұрын
Would you happen to remember how the Cross hybrid compared in terms of road noise?
@A_A_J. Жыл бұрын
@@nighthawkvc25a A bit more wind and road noise than the Crosstrek... however, the Crosstrek has the more growly boxer engine, so it has a bit more engine noise. If you are in the back seats, I think the Crosstrek would be slightly quieter. Corolla Cross has a larger trunk and it's more of a sound box. About the same level of noise between the two models in the front seats. Practically speaking, almost the same for both.
@phishfanАй бұрын
Too bad you can't option a spare tire that can mount on the hatch door like on some vehicles- would solve that issue. I guess you could figure a way to carry it on the roof rack if you didn't want to lose the trunk space.

Since I plan on driving in the mountains and deserts, having a spare tire is mandatory. On the Corolla Cross forum, there is a way of including a spare tire. But it adds another 5 or 6 hundred dollars. Other than that I like the Cross very much.

@@Steve_in_NJ With respect, 1) your cars are less than 5 years old, 2) it's a numbers game. My favorite car to drive was my old 1995 Honda Civic that did NOT have power steering, just a direct rack & pinion setup. It just felt natural, but it was a very small car so it worked fine. Larger/heavier cars need power steering. I recently bought a Corolla Cross Hybrid and I love it. At low speeds (in a parking lot) the steering is very light, but I've gotten used to it. The power steering tightens up a bit when you start going at higher speeds, but it still doesn't provide the direct feedback from the road that heavier sport-tuned steering would. For what it's worth, I test drove a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid and the steering felt similarly light. It's just how a lot of cars are made these days.
