Just a tip to spiralizer fans, save the left over vegetable ends in a container in the freezer- the next time you need to make vegetable stock you will have a big chunk of the prep done.

Think of it like this... our cells are linked rooms with engines running in them. The mitochondria are the engines, and bio-copper and magnesium tune them to max energy and min acidic exhaust. The copper-bases anti-oxidant enzymes are like a catalytic converter. They reduce the acidic exhaust when working correctly. When bio-copper is low, the mitochondria perform like anhootpie on the road pitching out black smoke and chugging along. The Root Cause Protocol focuses on optimizong the engine and the catalytic converter. Vegans and alkalarianism is blind to this component. If these don't work right because bio-copper is low, you will have oxidative stress issues and inflammatory issues no matter what your diet looks like. However, the Root Vause Protocol is blind to the state of the room in which the engine and catalytic converter operate, and how diet can impact that room. On an acidic diet, the body bruns up alkaline minerals, and copper according to Dr. Young, to neutralize thenexcess acid. That's instant bio-copper depletion right there, even if you follow the RCP, which does not take into account this acidic effect of one's diet. So, you need two things working... the room (and interstitial fluid) should be alkaline (or at least not uber acid and on its way towards alkaline), the mitochondria needs to be properly tuned with bio-copper and magnesium, and the copper-based antioxidant enzymes need to be fully energized. ... The solution is to eat alkaline, along with the highest quality natural organ meats and the highest quality cod liver oil.
@BrodyYYC11 күн бұрын
An all meat diet is literally much better for autoimmune diseases than a veterinarian or even vegetable heavy diet.

you learn something new everyday! I've looked everywhere for good veg noodles. I found some on amz called "skinny .. or something" but they are really expensive and made from some powdered things i've never heard of - but they are only 9g carbs. I'm diabetic so if I ate regular pasta which is about 50g carbs I'd go through the roof! I can imagine using this to make variations of spaghetti squash style noodles but with acorn or butternut. Thanks so much!

This is great and thanks for the tips! I am rekindling my once great love for using a spiralizer--it sort of got put away at some point, alone and forgotten. I will be spiralizing all those veggies and more!! One thing that kinda baffled me though was why did anyone dislike this video? I mean, did they not approve of the veggies being used or were they offended by the blade choices used on certain kinds? Who clicks on a spiralizer guide video, gets tons of great ideas, then hits a thumbs down?? @suemarie60327 жыл бұрын
Not only does it save on the wrist, but you get 3 blades which do so much more than the twisting models. When I was reading reviews, many complained the Starfrit model didn't have good suction cups. I see the Paderno does. When I bought my similar model (ThinkKitchen), I mentioned this to the saleslady and she took the display model pressed it onto the counter. Then had trouble releasing it. LOL When I tried it at home, I realized all you need to do is slip your fingernail partially under it and it releases fine.
@suemarie60327 жыл бұрын
OOPS, I should also add that if you have the money, Paderno now has a 4 blade model that is getting rave reviews.
@Downshiftology7 жыл бұрын
Yes - good suction cups are key! I've never had a problem with mine (even after nearly 6 years) and you're right Sue, just stick your nail under to release (my Paderno actually has a little tab you can pull). But easy peasy!

I tricked my boyfriend into eating zoodles, and he for real thought they were normal spaghetti until I told him they weren't. But to his defence they were covered in home made green pesto, so it was hard to see. Just saying - that the actual consistency (if you turn them over for a couple minutes on the stove, no oil or nothing, to remove water) is almost exactly like normal spaghetti.

Wow this makes me regret giving my spiralizer away lol Mine just never seemed to work well. Maybe I'll try a different brand. (I had the one you have).
@Downshiftology7 жыл бұрын
That's a bummer to hear about your spiralizer. Maybe there was something glitchy with it? The good news is they're only $20 so perhaps a new one will do the trick! Especially now that you've got lots of veggie inspiration. ;)
@Downshiftology7 жыл бұрын
Those vertical spiralizers are good if you only plan to do zucchini (or narrow veggies). But unfortunately larger veggies like cabbage, rutabaga, sweet potatoes, etc won't fit in the chute unless chopped down first. Just something to be aware of. :)
@jmconant7 жыл бұрын
Downshiftology Thanks for the replies to you both. Yes! That was my first thought about the electric one. That's why I was initially intrigued by this video. Because you were spiralizing cabbage and onions :)
@Banana-lk7tf7 жыл бұрын
Chowi Simba Did someone say, electric??! Thank you so much for posting this link! I already have a regular spiralizer and I'm not overly happy with it. I don't care if I have to cut my produce down to fit in the shoot. This is more up my alley!

One of my friends who works as a chef taught me that you can push down at the bell pepper where the stem is then you can lift out all of the seeds in one go. It really saves time, and you won't have any seeds to separate afterwards.
@Downshiftology6 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you're slicing it up you can absolutely do that! Unfortunately, you can't do that and then spiralize, as there'd be no end to hold on to. :)

interesting comment. Here in UK I go for WONKY carrots as they are a lot bigger and although they are cheaper by weight, the size can mean they are more expensive. Had one that weighed 1Kg once

I am appalled that you did not wash any of the vegetables on camera. It is a bad habit that the younger generation does. Why you ask? A mom served her young daughter a salad from a bag that said it was washed at the processing plant. The young daughter died from salmonella. Had she washed the salad the girl would be alive today. This holds true for all vegetables. Please take heed and show these young women that you are washing these vegetables. In other countries ground water is contaminating vegetables every day. Do you grow your own. Good, but please wash. A heavy rain could do the same to your garden. How would you know until one day it is too late.

I did like your demo, what kind if machine were you using?
@bookmouse7706 жыл бұрын
Yes, but I wash veg because it's neccesary to remove bugs & afids.
@CMarieMD6 жыл бұрын
It is a great habit to wash your vegetables to clean them, however it is wishful thinking to believe you can sterilize them of microbes like salmonella. Most often when salmonella from livestock runoff infects our produce and there are widespread outbreaks, the salmonella responsible for these outbreaks is deep inside plant structures Called the STOMA. Simply washing the vegetables will not clear the microbes. Cooking the vegetables is the only way to kill the microbes, and that is only if they are heat-labile.
@daywalkerin6 жыл бұрын
Emm, excuse me, but no one clicks on the "how to spiralize veggies"-video to waste time on seeing how they're being washed. This is ridiculous criticism.

nice video, with a few new to me ideas. A good one to spiralize that you didn't include is chayote, we like it better than zoodles which can get soggy quickly, chayote is very mild and has better texture for pasta.
