🤔 I just might make this for Christmas, looks awesome! ❤️ Meanwhile, I made your slow cooker whole chicken yesterday, broiled a few mins to crisp the skin, it turned out perfect! 👌 And as a bonus, I made chicken soup with the broth in my stock pot by adding water, salt and pepper in the bottom part. In the strainer insert I put all the bones, grissle, cartlidge, fat, skin (from sides and bottom that didn't crisp), 2 celery stalks halved and a few cabbage leaves to cover. Simmered for a half hour, removed the strainer then added carrots (from the slow cooker recipe), soup noodles and topped with nokedli (Hungarian pinch dumplings) simmered 6 minutes and voila!. I swear it was the best chicken soup I ever made, even better than from scratch! 👌😄

Thank you so much for this recipe. I made it today for Christmas dinner and it was a hit. Came out perfect. I left my prime rib out for 6 hours to assure room temperature also I used herb de provonce instead of thyme cause it already included in this herb. I had a 6.2lb prime rib cooked it 450 for 20 minutes as you stated and 80 minutes on 325. I wanted it to be medium. Stuck thermometer in meat 125 was the temp and it was perfect. I will definitely be using more of your recipes.

This looks delicious! At what temperature you have to take it out of the oven to get the medium cook and not medium rare?
@Downshiftology4 жыл бұрын
Hi Martina - For medium rare, you'll have to cook the prime rib for 13-15 minutes. So I'd say cook just a smidge longer than that for a medium cook. You can also reference exact timing for medium rare based on how big your prime rib is written in the blog post!

I made your turkey recipe over thanksgiving and it was a success, ready to experiment your prime rib recipe for Christmas!! Question what is the best way to get rid of garlic odor after minced them?
@chezmoi424 жыл бұрын
An easy way to deal with garlic is to use a press, so you don't need to get it on your hands or cutting board. It also works best for salad dressings, avoiding big chunks and giving a milder flavor. Be sure to look for a self-cleaning model, or at least one that comes with a little 'comb' to clean out the holes.
@Downshiftology4 жыл бұрын
Excited for you to try this prime rib recipe Frances 😊 As for garlic, I normally use a garlic press as shown in the video.

I absolutely have to add the horseradish and more black pepper. Im kinda a horseradish Wasabi lover on my meat. I get high off it lol. I personally use half table salt half kosher. It's a very critical step to not add too much or little. I suppose if the meat is sitting over 2 hour the salt will melt but keep in mind kosher salt is very thick and can easily overly salt things (for the watchers). U definitely can over salt this meat so be careful. I add just a lil oil with the butter because it helps everything stick. Ur Rib roast looked so perfect because it obviously was. U left nothing off the table and explained everything perfectly and completely. .
