It would be great if there was a new series going back in time starting when it all started. Example: Cora on a boat crossing the Atlantic as a young girl as the potential bride of Heir of Grantham! Before the girls, before everything! How exciting!

I love that idea!!!! Wonderful! 🎉 I also would love to see a kind of flash forward... right in time for Queen Elizabeth's coronation. It ends when all of the peers stand put on their coronets, when the time comes, and they all say, " God, save the Queen!" And, of course, the earl is there. ❤

Other reports say it’s a final film, not a new season. Possibly some of it shot in America. That would explain why levinson Cora’s brother is supposed to be in it, and also Dexter and Barrow went to America.

"Might, may, could, possibly..." Is this nothing more than wishful hoping? Also, you didn't mention Lady Mary Josephine and Henry Talbot's daughter, Caroline Talbot, when mentioning the Crawley sister's offspring. In addition, Edith Violet Pelham, Marchioness of Hexham, announced her second pregnancy, so there should be several members of the next generation to write about, especially if they springboard into the future, let's say, the 1940s. Also, I would love to see Lady Rose and Atticus Aldridge's family return to Downton Abbey for the Summer season and meet each of their children. We have already met their beautiful daughter, Victoria Rachel Cora Aldridge, during a visit to Downton Abbey at a family Christmas celebration.

Now Lady Cora has been diagnosed with pernicious anemia? Didn't Lord Merton get the same diagnosis and was preparing himself to die? Is there no other disease or illness to get?

Lord Morton’s diagnosis was incorrect. He was diagnosed with pernicious anemia, which would have been fatal at the time. However, he started to feel better so he went for additional testing and found out he had iron deficiency anemia, which was treatable with dietary modifications. Cora was diagnosed with pernicious anemia, but it was several years later and there were treatments available by then; so her diagnosis was not fatal.

⁠@@heatherfellows2675 I think Lord Merton having it was a catalyst for Isabel to realize she truly did love him and wanted to be with him, despite the ill wishes of his sons. I think the fact that they thought his illness was terminal really made her emotions clear. It turned out his condition wasn’t terminal - and anemia was an ideal disease for that plot line. I think with Cora, they used it to create a “health scare” of sorts, because some of the symptoms she had can also occur when a person has cancer. I’m sure there were other diseases they could have used, but does it really matter that much? Anemia is a fairly common condition, so it’s not unrealistic to have two characters afflicted with it.

As much as i like, no adore Downton Abbey there comes a moment in every story where it should end. And when those in charge choose not to end it it runs the risk of becoming like the Walking Dead. An ever decreasing quality show that flies off the handle.

It doesn’t make any sense to me to create a Season 7 picking up within a year or so of the timeline of Season 6. Two movies have already come out furthering the DA storyline into the late ‘20’s. While it could be interesting to see how George, Marigold and Sibbi grow up in the face of the Great Depression, going back in time makes no sense. If your guesswork is correct and a DA movie is also in the works, any conceivable timeline would be blown out of the water. I mean, why watch Season 7 if watching the movie explains or retells the story. 🙅‍♀️
