I'm a Dutch Kiwi and have lived in Auckland for the past 8 years, in my opinion it is one of the best cities in the world with an extremely good work/life balance. You don't have the social pressure as is common in much of Europe/North America/Australia as long as you can make a decent living. The city itself has everything you need in terms of entertainment and hospitality and it's offset with fantastic green spaces and an incredible backyard full of lush rain forest and beaches that are unrivalled. Most people that talk negatively about Auckland either only spent 24 hours in the "concrete jungle" of the CBD and never ventured beyond it, or are in the unfortunate position where they don't make the money to enjoy living here to the fullest extent because it isn't cheap.

Auckland was very high on the list of most liveable cities in the world, looks like it has fallen in recent years due to heavy traffic congestion and the higher cost of living, but I can see there's a pretty decent work/life balance. After exploring the different parks, war memorial museum, Mt Eden, etc. I can say I thought it was extremely awesome to have so many spaces like that. It isn't cheap but we met a lot of really great people and I can say I enjoyed my time there! 🍻

Holy heck, for your first time exploring Auckland Central you took a pretty good route for seeing all the interesting bits. Either you have a great sense of direction or increadible lucks. As an Auckland local, this was strangely enjoyable.

0:32 I went to the CBD not too long ago and love the buildings, but didn’t realise how much progress they’ve made with Seascape. The time stamp will take you to where you can see the next tallest building in the entire country, Seascape which will be 187m tall! Sky Tower will still be the tallest structure as it isn’t classified as a building. When completed, Seascape will have this cool asymmetrical triangle point to it, you should definitely have a little look into it 😄. Great video!

Think I may have told you, best Asian food in Auckland, where all the bus loads of Chinese tourists go,is Canton Cafe in Kingsland, you have to book,it's a bit pricey, but you won't regret it. Maggi prawns,Ginger Venison, Garlic Prawns,Roast pork Belly, just to name a few.

There's also Dominion Road, which is the closest thing you'll get to a Chinatown/Little Asia in Auckland or New Zealand. Lots of great places; my favourite is Golden Steamboat for their tasty black pepper beef and their delicious plum juice, but they're pretty much all good options. 😊

Would recommend you go to both Weta Workshops! The one in Wellington is all about the actual movies and props they’ve made and really cool to see but is a bit more hands off, whereas the one in Auckland is much more interactive and hands on. They’re both very different and unique experiences

While in Auckkand, I'm not sure if they still do it but my wife said the Lion Breweries tour is really good. Also your knees will hate you for it but a great walk is Rangitoto Island and if you like wine (I don't know about beer) but alot if ppl rave about the Waiheke Island wine tours.
