The lighting on the bridge is coming along. It's beautiful!

I love the day and night comparisons along Gratiot and Grand River. They've been going gangbusters on the Gordie Howe bridge from the beginning. Excellent work as always,Frankai.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Personally I just can’t get excited about this move for what WAS the largest AUTO COMPANY in the WORLD … Now only requiring 2 RENTED floors in someone else’s building. This downward trend in office space started under this ceo Mary Barra when the last renovation project for the rencen was cancelled.. Also what this will mean LESS TAX REVENUE for the city … guess Detroit is STILL has NOT gotten rid of its ON GOING musical chairs building swap scourge of its past YET 😒

I agree

to be fair this office space downsizing is something all corporations and cities are having to address

For your information, if you take a look at the national news you’ll see that the pandemic changed the need for office space throughout the country now that so many more people are working from home. It’s not just a Detroit issue as you seem to think. GM must obviously be saving money in the long run by making this move. Yes it sucks that the future of the RenCen is undetermined but I can’t blame them if it’s the best thing for the company. Their main goal is to be the most profitable for years to come

I think GM should have stayed in their "iconic, the world over" headquarters in the New Center. That's where they became the world's largest automaker and every country in the world recognized that building. I remember the first time I saw it in person in the late 80's! For a car guy like me, it was like seeing the US Capitol or the White House for the first time!

Hey Frankai…always enjoy your vids! As you have been stretching out into the city more and more, you might want to check out the new Detroit Department of Transportation project along Schaefer just up from I-96. It’s a big project (replacement of the facility that burned a couple years go) on 22 acres and the superstructure is up and visible.

I wonder when GM is moving out of the RenCen....

they wonder too lol waiting for the new building to get finished

Next year. And again, the big story is future of RenCen, not the move of GM. It's just musical chairs as more and more moves to GM Tech in Warren. GM is really not that committed to downtown, especially after covid which is still with us. ,
