Thanks for the tour, just moved to southern NH from the Cape and just found out that I'm the 11th great granddaughter of William Drew on my maternal side who landed in Maine in 1648 from Sharpham, Devonshire, England and settled in Portsmouth and Dover back then, per a current genealogist! Older brother's name is William Drew and great grandfather's name was Wiliam Drew as well...Drew country! Knew I had ancestors buried in Jaffrey, NH, but didn't know I had such deep roots here!

Enjoyed the tour of Dover. Not as snazzy as Portsmouth, but a nice downtown. Husband and I like that it's close to Portsmouth, Exeter, etc..

Thanks so much for the comment! Yes totally agree Dover doesn't have quite as much entertainment and dining options as Portsmouth, but it definitely can stand on it's own, plus being so close to Portsmouth , York , etc make it a pretty sweet spot to land:)

As a well-traveled person I always wonder why in the U.S. these small towns always seem to have empty street almost all times of day.. A town this size in Europe would have people walking around everywhere.

Foster's hasn't been printed in Dover for twenty years, and City Hall was never a courthouse at any point in history. Other than that, thanks for covering the city.
