Thank you for going to Frankenmuth so I don't ever have to. It's much appreciated.

Lol, no problem! Once I do a walking tour of Bronner's, then you will have seen about everything!

@@scottman895 My idea of a vacation is not shopping and more, not being around other people. Michigan has 7 million acres of publicly accessible forests and I use them.

@@JeffinBville That's one great thing about Michigan. There are plenty of parks everywhere in the state. As much as I enjoy checking out different cities and towns, I like getting out into nature too where it is much quieter.

I live an hour away from Frankenmuth, I go visit once in a while on weekends usually, been coming up since I was little.

That's awesome! I usually try to go at least a couple times a year since it is not too far away.

Here in Canada, Walter Ostanek is considered our Polka King.
@scottman8955 ай бұрын
Ah, very cool. I have not heard of him before.
@robertsitch14155 ай бұрын
@scottman895 he plays the accordion and sometimes sings. You can hear some of his music on KZbin. He is still alive at 89 years old, and I believe that he still lives in St. Catherine's.

@scottman895 Walter Ostanek sometimes played with Frankie Yankovic (who wasn't Weird Al's father). Walter also had Ostanek's Music Centre in St Catherine's, too, which got sold to Long and McQuade, which is a national chain in Canada.

I guess that land was way cheaper and available in Birch Run by the time that Frankenmuth became popular with interstate travelers.
@scottman8955 ай бұрын
That's probably true even though Birch Run is a popular spot too due to the outlet mall.

@scottman895 Some of the chain hotels there are older than the outlet mall, though.

@@scottman895 Yes, and I guess that being in a village with a lower crime rate than Saginaw or Flint is why some might prefer to spend the night there than either of those places.
