Everybody on that freeway caused a person to die because a person having a heart attack couldn’t get to the hospital on the next exit. I know this because I work at a first responder and the crew had to take the longer way to the hospital. Think of others before you block the freeway.

I was on that freeway, what are you gonna do about it?

Why do the police allow them to block the freeway? You know how dangerous that is? What if I'm one of the first cars to approach the crowd and a car behind me isn't paying attention and slams into the rear of my car, killing my child in the back seat? Who's going to be at fault?

The woman at the beginning gave a perfect speech, I just wish more people had heard it and agreed with her about not destroying our beautiful city. I personally think they should change their signs to ALL Lives Matter, they are segregating themselves when they say Black Lives Matter. United we stand.

I understand where you're coming from, but saying all lives matter invalidates the struggles of the black community and people of color in America. Think about it this way: if there are multiple houses and one is on fire, you put out the fire in the burning house. You don't do the same for the houses that aren't burning, because it isn't needed. It's the same with the black lives matter movement. Nobody is saying all lives don't matter, they're just highlighting the racism and brutality that black people have to face in america, which is the real problem.

You have a point in general, but the specifics of this “protest” is that rioters are hiding in the ranks waiting for nightfall. La Mesa didn’t deserve what happened. It diminishes the reason for the protest

@@johnnysandiegoable The police escalated the rioting by teargassing protesters hours before it started. If they had instead come out to the public in their normal uniforms and protected the public's right to protest, La Mesa wouldn't have burned.
