"Fish buddy" made me laugh! Seemed like you had some fun making this video. Definitely a watch I have considered. Your review was excellent. And you knocked it out of the park with the Barton.

Haha thanks Matthew glad you liked it. He features pretty heavily so he is more than just a passing fish. It’s a lovely watch. Unfortunately it’s not quite mine but it is definitely borrowable

Thanks for this long thoughtful review! I have the turquoise one coming tomorrow. I also have an orange sub 300 so I do like the typical Doxa aesthetic-but the 200 looks like a good beater in another fun color.

Thanks for watching. I’m sure you’ll like the 200. The turquoise especially is a lovely color. I owned that version briefly and still consider buying it again. Love the 200 range personally

@@theknightswatch I’ll review it on my channel soon. If you’d like, we can do an exchange loan to see those colors side by side. I have the turquoise Rolex OP41 so this Doxa sticks with the Easter egg colored theme for me lol

@@marcgoldbergdogtrainer unfortunately don’t have the yellow anymore either! Got to flip through watches to review new ones haha. Hope you like the 200!

I have a salmon Islander, the ISL-37, that has that issue with the lume on the hands being a slight pink shade and the reason that happens is the center of the hands are actually skeletonized before the lume is applied, there is nothing but dial under the lume. The lume is applied and using the surface tension of it the lume sticks to the surrounds of the hands but the issue you run into is if the lume is too thin the dial color comes through it, because the lume is semi-translucent.

Have 3 absolutely love this watch. Think it just sits so well on wrist . The rubber strap is expensive but by far the best rubber strap I have owned . I include rubber straps by omega breitling and rubber b . It’s the same company that produce the straps for RM and really takes the watch to another level .
@theknightswatch3 жыл бұрын
Love the watch but the rubber is take it or leave it for me, don’t think it’s too amazing. Flares out a decent amount and would be nice if they offered a non textured one too. Had the rubber when I got the aquamarine dial. Glad you like yours!

Own a carrabean blue sub 200, a very cool watch, imo looks better than most dive watches

A fantastic looking entry level Doxa. The bezel markers look washed out in pics. Is it as noticeable in person?
@theknightswatch3 жыл бұрын
Agreed! For me the bezel has always been very legible. Never had a problem with it.

that case and lug shape looks similar to Seamaster 300 vintage models

great review, thanks! agree on the pros and cons and I think at this price point Doxa should improve things a little bit.

What’s the weight of the watch?

It is kinda surprising that a company with their history and chops would be so vague about the description of the watch. I mean, aren't they a "watch enthusiast" brand? Anyway, I have never seen the site, but I might give it a look. I do kinda like the turquoise 300 with the carbon case and the only reason I mention it is because I just saw an ad for it on IG before i watched this review. great job as always. This might be the only 42mm watch in the galaxy with a 19mm lug width. props to them for that! I'd say it looks great on you. ( or looked? )
@theknightswatch3 жыл бұрын
The site is surprisingly succinct. The carbon is cool but a little much for me I think. I wish it had 20mm lugs but alas they have used 19 like way too many companies. At least archer, barton, cheapest nato straps, and the like are starting to do 19 much more! Appreciate the thoughts as always Michael!

I've recently had to decide between the Sub 200, and the Sub 300T, and it was a VERY close call. The Sub 200 is almost £1000 cheaper, and taking into account the advantages and how they would effect me in the real world, that's a massive amount of money for not much of an advantage. I'm NEVER going to need a Helium Escape Valve, OR the ability of my watch to be water resistant at 5000 ft, and IF I was that deep I'd have more significant problems than a watch could possibly solve. With my very skinny wrists the Sub 200 may well have been the better choice, but I finally went for the Sub 300T, purely because it's the 'Iconic Doxa' and I'm probably only ever going to own one Doxa, so I may as well go for the classic one with historic significance....Plus I'm a fan of Dirk Pitt and the other works of Clive Cussler LOL.
@chrishennemeyer72763 жыл бұрын
I too appreciate the limited and balanced text on the dial, unlike other Doxas. The Sub 300 has twice as much text on the dial and its scattered around in odd places.

I'm surprised Doxa doesn't provide more information as it's an enthusiast brand with a particularly enthusiast person at the helm (Rick Marei). As for the watch, apart from concerns on the finish, it does sound and look great. Every collector should try an 'I'm here to party' watch and this is a great fit 😁
@theknightswatch3 жыл бұрын
Agreed really would’ve expected more info from the site but it is what it is. Definitely a great watch nonetheless. Absolutely the fun watch in a collection
@Billeh5563 жыл бұрын
I considered this for a long time but what killed it for me was the terrible lume, especially from a company like Doxa with such a rich diving history.
@theknightswatch3 жыл бұрын
Fair enough! I don’t really mind bad lume since I can count on a closed fist how many times I’ve used it on any watch. It’s a nice touch but never a deal breaker(unless they use c3) for me.
