Very nice review, thanks. I bet a sticky ball could unscrew that case back no problem. All those words would give it lots of grip. One issue I was hoping you'd address is the 30 ATM water resistance on a watch equipped with a helium escape valve. The 300T has 120 ATM, yet it looks to have a very similar case. What gives? Thank you for the review! I enjoyed it. Interesting watch... Definitely different from the usual Doxa dive themed watches, but I can understand why they went this way. I have read at least one of Cussler's novels, and I have seen one of the movies, as well, but can't say I am a big fan. I guess this would be equivalent to Omega's tribute to James Bond... Re the bracelet, I would prefer it if Doxa were to make the 300T bracelet to be more like that on the 1200T (without the flare), and make it taper a bit more (perhaps from 20 mm to 16mm). I have the Doxa Army, and I think the bracelet is just too heavy for the watch.

Thanks for watching and taking time to comment! Good comparison with Omega James Bond themed watches. I’m hoping they do something similar like this with an orange dial at some point. On the bracelet, I agree. My initial concern was how it would wear, and it wears the same as the 1200, just adds a little to the size, and ultimately wasn’t really necessary.

Gorgeous design - old map parchment paper? minus the clive cussler name on the dial. Prefer that on the back. Speaking of which, DOXA should make some kind of tool or adapter to remove that case back. Friction balls sometimes work but it's iffy depending on how tight the back is screwed on. Now I'm curious about clive cussler - I wonder how many people have read or heard of the book series. Really not crazy about seeing the name on the dial every day. Thanks for the fine review!

Thanks for watching Forbin, this is a 100% tribute to Clive. The books have been bestsellers since the 60’s. Doxa was a dying brand, the mentions of the Doxa Dirk Pitt wore in the books revived the brand and brought in a huge following. I’ve been reading them the last few months, they are great books. One was made into a movie, Sahara. I hope they do this finish on other versions.

They just released a new darker limited edition of this watch. Doxa is definitely a rabbit hole. Something so unique, classic, and original about this design.
