Best version of this song even though they are all good. There's something in the way Doyle arranges hymns that makes them truly special.

Kimberly Cassell I just saw this comment. Thanks so much for listening & taking the time to leave a comment. I grew up hearing this, bluegrass, & a cappella Southern Gospel. I've made some Playlists on my Channel. This type song will be under "Gospel", "Bluegrass", & "Southern Gospel". You are welcome to explore anytime you wish. My best to you, Moppet

Same here. I remember as a kid my dad playing this kind of music all the time and literally 30 years later, it's nice to be able to go back and find the same songs. They still sound as good as I remember them.

@kephartskutlery I grew up hearing Doyle Lawson, so I don't know other versions. I tried to find other versions but I am not sure how Mr. Golden wrote it. I found a version by JRShatzeline (this is his channel) and wondered if it is more like Mr. Golden wrote it. Everything Doyle does is 'professionally done'. He is a perfectionist. Thank you so much for your comment, but now you have my curiosity up. I want to hear a version true to the composer. Stop by anytime. My best, Moppet (Barbara)

Very professionally done, but you just can't beat the way Wm M. Golden wrote it.

This song is also called "Life's Evening Sun". Who's singing the high tenor here?
