Out here in East Texas we like to attach/sandwich a wide strip of heavy duty rubber between the cutting edge and the blade for plowing snow. It reduces vibration/shock to the tractor/operator and helps protect the blade and surface you're plowing. It's much quieter as well.

Wes, when your stacking hay to be tarped, if you would get you some small rope and lay on the ground letting it stick out several feet on each side then put the bales on top of it you would have something to tie your tarp to and it will never blow off.

Got myself two pair of suspenders. One for my motorcycle pants (couldn't cinch up the velcro any more) and one for older jeans that are to good to throw out and to big to wear. So I wear them to work in around the barn. It was a cold 28 or so with a fierce wind out of the north west this morning. Cold ass ride into work.

Wes, You might consider searching for a used small portable compressor, say 125 - 150 cfm i.e. one that run one jackhammer . Add some long 3/4" or 1/2" hose and fashion an air lance ( just a 5' - 8' piece of pipe and a ball valve). You can slightly flatten the discharge end to get a more fan-shaped discharge stream. Dip the end in some RTV sealer and you're less likely to scratch paint .

A used road grader edge from the Municipality makes a half decent replacement when welded to a blade. Sometimes can be had for scrap price.

Have you thought about getting a telehandler like a low the JCB make some smaller versions that would be perfect for what you do and they extend out to like 20ft or more and you can can't a used on pretty cheap if you shop around online we bought one with a bad rear end for cheap and replaced the rear end and it wasn't that bad cost wiz but we end up with a real good machine for like 6000 and had a root rake grapple on it and forks to change out. But that thing was strong it weighed around 12000 lbs and I could pick up two cars at a time with it so it can handle three bales I'm pretty sure but just a thought thanks for the video's I like them a lot and I learn a lot from your channel. I'm a small business owner we do clearing grading landscaping and my winter business is hauling sweet potatoes to hunter and whoever wants them to feed livestock but love the tips you give sometimes and mechanic stills to lol sorry for the book I wrote lol

Speaking of Dozer. What about that Dozer next to the hay stack? When are you getting to that thing.
@wi11y19607 жыл бұрын
On my suspenders that I get from TSC? The rear clips were removed and I use cable ties. Otherwise when you get in a vehicle, the seat fabric of getting in and out will destroy the clip. So cable tie through the end of the suspender strap to a belt loop and you are golden.

Do you have to run chains to push snow or do those tires get the job done? I am always amazed that AG tires seem to just work no matter what you drive into.

I remember the time we covered a silage pile and the wind caught that 40x100' plastic and ripped it out of the hands of 5 grown men and out from under the feet of 4 250-300lb men. and that was fun dragging back.

Do you know what is a waste of agricultural space? Its cows. Milk and meat are one of the most inefficient way to feed people. A veganist eats about 1/6th of a hectare per year and an avarage american eats 18 times as much hectare than a veganist. I am a farmer myself and not veganist but cows are the worst things on earth. and milk isnt even healthy. its for baby cows.
@buckhorncortez7 жыл бұрын
Obviously, you've never been to the Western United States. The areas where cattle are raised cannot be farmed as the land is not suitable for agricultural crops for a number of reasons. You really need to get out of your self-created bubble before you make ignorant comments.

@davidh26397 жыл бұрын
is it possible to get a few telegraph poles and build a simple cheap shed for the hay, leave it open, just a roof
@deeryme76907 жыл бұрын
It's tricky to build a structure like that in such a way that the roof won't just act like a sail and blow off, it needs to be very well braced. For this operation a tarp weighted with a few bales is more than sufficient.
@davidh26397 жыл бұрын
well here In ireland and england we just use use pole or even railway track, sink them in the ground, put timber across or steel across and from a curved or triangle roof,
@deeryme76907 жыл бұрын
If I tried that up here in Donegal there wouldn't be much of a shed left haha. Never heard of railway track being used though, that's a new one.
