One recommendation, would you be willing to give a ballpark on how much the knife costs? That would make the review more relevant for my purposes--i.e., some knives are simply out of my price range. Thanks.

I have a Canadian Special and the handles are like square blocks of G-10.

Ive got one of these on order with a convex grind and carbon fiber scales. The hardest part of a dozier is the wait... but for a customized dozier. its worth it.

Mr. Dozier makes his knives to be used, and does a good job of keeping them affordable (relatively speaking) for the average working guy. They're kinda like Spydercos...beautiful because of their wonderful functionality. Nice knife man.

Good review, 5*. Which Bark River did you have in mind when you did the review? The ones I have all have relatively narrow handles, and seem quite ergonomic; at least in my use they have been.

I have it listed on USN for $275 right now.

The blade looks like it's been designed for heavy bushcrafting like batoning, but doesn't it have a hollow grind? Wouldn't a scandi, highflat or even convex geometry be better for bushcraft? A hollow geometry is good for butchering, but this knife is way too thick and long for skinnig and separating flesh from bone. Is it available with different geometries and different steels? I'd prefer a highflat or convex geometry and maybe carbon steel. Thanks.

Ah, thanks. I've always avoided that model because of the finger grooves.
