The stupidity is that the PR flack has forgotten that there's going to be another day. His guy will be flogging something and will want to go on this show, and I doubt if he will be welcomed with open arms. I was a newspaper shooter and had to photograph a former world champion downhill skier. He was working for a clothing manufacturer, was on a tour and I met up with him at a sports clothing store. There was a lot of manufacture signage around and he asked if he could pose in the middle of them. The fact that he asked was no problem. He SHOULD ask. I said no, we can't do that, (the editor would have kicked my butt if this looked like an ad!) and he immediately backed off. When I did the feature shot though I made sure that his jacket was smoothed out so the company's logo was as clear as possible. He was a nice guy and I wanted to help. He helped me and I was inclined to help him. Had he been snarly then ...
