I like so much how he sees and talks about Armie. I understand Armies love for him even more now: Luca saw not just the beauty of Armies outside, but also of his inside. I often noticed in interviews that Armie doesnt like very much when his beauty is adressed. Luca saw more in him than just that. And as everyone knows who experienced him in interviews Armie has so, so much more to offer than just an incredible beautiful face.

It is so interesting to listen to him speaking about his work and his interests. I particularly found interesting when he brought up his research for Suspiria about body art and the expression of horror and the connection between that and love. Made me curious to understand more about it. And his vision about interior design, of something substantial and lasting instead of a temporary mock up.

Such a classy, wonderfully eloquent man. It’s so clear that Luca Guadagnino has a forceful personality while retaining humility. His intelligence saw something in Armie Hammer that no one else did and thanks to that insight, we’ve been given something truly beautiful. The love of Elio and Oliver was young and wild and perfect and ephemeral. The love of Luca and Armie is the real culmination of Call Me By Your Name.

"Call Me by Your Name" opened me up, turned me inside out, helped me to get out of the shell and discover other ways of seing things, challenge the perspective. Very beautiful, very powerful, very universal and humane (in many aspects) work of art. And the gentleness with which many truths were presented to us is something that can move people with every kind of background and help them find the common language and maybe abandon the false, biased, prejudiced ways of thinking about others. I'm so grateful to all the people engaged in this project! Coming from very conservative, very catholic background... I consider the film a very transforming experience, one of the most important works of art I've encountered so far. It almost changed me completely, helped me to ask questions I hadn't been able to ask earlier. And I use these words deliberately. I can't label myself conservative nor liberal, nor right wing, nor left wing any more. In the end we all are human beings and have to think for ourselves. Every label, every clishe and mould we try to fit in is somehow robbing us and makes us less eager to search the truth abd experience te world as it is. This interview is really good. Shows so many things about Luca Guadanino's perspective that is so interesting. Acctually, his personality, as we can see it here, seems to be very honest. He seems to be eager to understand the world and basically willing to share his desire for the world with us through his amazing art.

For the longest time (more than a decade) Steven Spielberg and Tarantino were my favorite directors, they inspired me to want to write and direct and even take that in college.. but Guadagnino easily changed that overnight. Maybe my perspective changed and I see art differently, but his style is just breathtaking..

Well Olivier was both an American Movie star, and Mona Lisa, hidden beauty and secretive inner life that inspire viewers to look double, on surfaces and benefe surfaces. What is great in Armie performance is that his feelings and venerability, and being caring and open come thru as we watch, and he become ideal men that you want to meet in your dreams. In ideal world, wher is no suffering, only beauty of love, energy, compassion. The basic reason that the viewer has to understand, the initial initial physical interest, the beauty of the physical - the cognac goes into the seduction of the soul and the mind. The actor played very weakness and fear at the bottom and the courage and love and care for someone he loved on the surface. I was afraid that this movie will be about an older man chasing a teenager, and it will be defensive, and the whole was beautiful, it's probably one of the nicest movies I've seen in my life. A real masterpiece. Exquisite intellectually and aesthetically, as if a documentary film concern feelings in the course of their happening, manifestation in the present moment. Armi's role was not appreciated by the Academy, but without him, Elio would have no reason to experience the awakening of sexuality and love, and the desire for the unity of the soul. Beloved Hammer Army, I want to tell you that: 1, all those who do not watch commercial films have paid attention to you. 2, if it was so good for you to play in an independent cinema, then you have to continue, 3, which obviously is not only a beautiful man, but also a great devoted actor, who did not disturb the money from home, if you are an artist, use it for the benefit of the viewers. 4, not all LGBTQ + viewers ask about your body. Me was made by your emotional and artistic side. I am asking for more LGBTQ + movies. We, too, want to watch Mona Lisa in a modern edition. You are loved. It's more important than an Oscar nomination.

Pod yeah unfortunately it would’ve worked when Armie was first approached, 6 years prior when he would have been the same age roughly. But still, loved the film. The mother in the book calls Oliver “the star” and “the cauboi (cowboy) and Armie definitely suits that oldtimer Hollywood Star look. His sensual chemistry with Timothée is hard to find between any actors/actresses.

Luca, can you please comment on thescene in Call Me By Your Name where the couple are arguing, in Italian, for what seemed like a very long time. What was the purpose of that scene, and are you happy with it? I know you have a great explanation. 2nd, Oliver's facial expressions, in the morning when he and Elio woke up and Elio was upset, and in Rome when Oliver is awake and standing while Elio was asleep. What is Oliver thinking in these scenes? Thank you for making Call Me BY Your Name. It touched me and many others. It's the best movie I've ever seen.
