I have watched this several times. It is very interesting. Zach Woods, seems like an intelligent person, and very interesting to listen to. I also admire the interviewer, having worked in this field myself, I admire, how this comes of as "just" a conversation between to old friends. I wish more people, would pay attention to interviews of this caliber, instead of the more common superficial ones. Watching this, was a great learning experience, and when you can walk away from an interview with a "moviestar", having learned something new, that is not about Hollywood, its a great day!

I'm a Gen-Z, but I always prefer a nice hardcover book to an e-reader. There's something more visceral about the rough texture of the pages and the total immersion of it. Phones always have notifications and are so multipurposed using often lacks that nice immersive feeling you can get from theatre, sports, and books. Things like coding or gaming can often be just as immersive, but most of the time phones are used for social media, flash games, or other sources that can be used for superficial experiences that can often feel empty. It all depends on how you use it, but I still love to enjoy a good book.

we already know about some impacts of excessive smartphone use on mental health :) for example instant gratification is an issue. it can turn out to be very similar to drug addiction.

its about anything smartphones can offer really. it can be social interaction but it can just as well be anything else we do on our smartphones like gaming for example. zach describes it pretty well when he says he turns to his smartphone when he is feeling too well and also when he is feeling to poorly. they have become a tool for us to moderate mood similiarly to drugs.

I used to enjoy this interviewer a lot. I appreciate that it's just an hour of unedited conversations with an actor/director/writer. He keeps the flow going, he's very knowledgeable in film, the repartee is natural, etc. But I find his recent interviews have at least one comment bashing Trump. Why should my political beliefs be an issue when I'm watching an interview of A COMIC ACTOR of a show that has NOTHING to do with politics? And I noticed that the interviews I watched in which he gets on a political tangent have the same response from the interviewee: politics shouldn't be a topic in an entertainment interview and it shouldn't be an issue what the entertainer's political views are.
