Man made a film with a kid and an Instagram model and managed to make it brilliant, what a director.

@@triviabaws8885 Yes! Sean's genius is seeing the potential in the child and the Instagram model to become great artists. He didn't trick them. They are both amazing.

He also helped kickstarted the career of the two leads from the film Tangerine, one of the most breath taking film I have seen, and it was shot on an IPhone 5S.

Fantastic interview, Sean's so modest and great to listen to. Loved Tangerine & The Florida Project and always excited for whatever's next.

This is one of the most relaxed interviews that I've seen on this channel. Seems like Sean would be a great person to work with as well as Willem.

You should check out his earlier films, too. Take Out and Prince of Broadway are really good. They are hard to find, but worth looking for!

With all the 3D, special effects and giant budget movies happening Sean brings Hollywood back to its modest beginning where raw acting, humanistic story and realism was what made Hollywood.

Sean Baker is a filmmaker whose projects will always inspire my curiosity. His work is reniniscent of when the world was caught off guard by the French New Wave.

Florida Project...2 highlights that created messages...the brazillian couple who booked at the wrong motel represented how 98 percent of all people would react; and, i loved the jumping in the rain...she really loved her daughter. Haley was amazing. Loved the way she walked.

This movie is fantastic and I'm kind of upset I never heard of it until the beginning of 2022! Willem was amazing and everyone else was perfectly cast! The bright aesthetic against the grime of the environment just worked! 10/10 recommend!

I would love to have a conversation with this young man to personally thank him. This was my life after my husband divorced us but I had twins boy girl and 2 cats! People have no idea how cast aside you are in Florida if you aren't a tourist, retiree, or inherently wealthy. Prior to divorce we were an everyday family of 4 living in a a beautiful home, relatively new cars, church on Sundays, I was blessed enough to stay at home with my kids and season pass holders to universal and sea world. We invested in our state, paid taxes and when I was left with nothing and two children to provide for, I had to take a $8 an hr job, I didn't have a rental history or credit to get a house or apartment and denied government assistance but the true colors were displayed when a judge was convinced that they would have a better life with their father and his new wife because he made more money after dragging it out in court for 3 years until I had no money left to defend myself. Please do not judge people from a birdseye view. Just because we are struggling does not mean we are poor white trash unworthy of help, we are simply victims of a system that continually fails. For the record, I never did get, assistance or food stamps, I was told I made too much.

I think in general this is a hard film for Hollywood to accept. they don't want to accept the fact that it could compete with big budget studio projects as a no budget indie. they dont want to accept the fact that it successfully broke the traditional 3 act structure that is there bread and butter. they dont want to accept the fact that they an unknown was able to preform on the same level as actors they pay 5-20 million a film for. and most of all they dont like having to take a head on look at the realism of everyday poverty in America. it is unacceptable to be racist, sexist, or homophobic amongst liberal elites or Hollywood elites or whatever and that's why movies like "moonlight" "the Dallas buyers club" or "12 years a slave" (all great movies btw) did so well at that Oscars but this movie not only didn't do well, it wasn't even nominated (besides William for best supporting actor) for anything so that it could even not do well. classism and snubbing your nose at poor people is not just a republican thing and Democrats are not as progressive and willing to address the poverty issue as people make em out to be. that's just my theory though, doesn't mean its true.
