Something is really wrong if this interviewer doesn't get regular work. Anyone who can make great insightful conversation with someone so private as Mickey Rourke should be getting all the work. You see so many terrible interviewers who ask the same cliche and stupid questions that you wonder why they get paid. This guy on the other hand kept the conversation flowing, talked when he needed to talk and shut up when he needed to listen. No interruptions, just a well paced interview with one of the greatest actors of all time.

Mickey Rourke is a real man . He could appreciate intelligence , capabilities of an another man . He's in touch with himself . He's so brave enough to admit his own weakness while many of us still holding tight to our ego . Mickey Rourke in fact is honourable man and it takes an intelligent honourable person to see beyond his notorious reputations . Afterall Mickey Rourke is a down to earth , sensitive man who's the best actor and boxer , such a combination is unique !!! Love you , Mickey Rourke .

He might be a real man, but he's a terrible boxer.

Rourke should have had 3 other Oscar nominations: Diner, 9.5 weeks, and Pope of Greenwich Village.

he definitely should have. the wrestler is a masterpiece movie and mickey was the reason. he was literally born for this role.
@GeppettoProductions3 жыл бұрын
@@jacobadams5924 I agree. I also think those 3(?) movies he did with Michael Cimino did no favors to his rep, back in the day.

Going out on top vs making a come back on a second chance. I feel the latter is most inspirational because it brings hope to anyone who is carrying the weight of past trauma. He has come out the other end with valuable insights. I have watched a few of his interviews. He could write a book on this or do a series of interviews because he has processed trauma and moved forward and should share this. Many men do not speak to it.

Albeit, the latter part of his career, but in no way the lesser. Rediscovering him over the last few years has been a sincere pleasure. "Perfect" doesn't exist, but "progress" does, and he seems to be navigating his current path with a finely tuned focus. I am so consistently surprised by his depth and his genuine willingness to continue to grow and learn. An opened mind and a healing heart never looked better on anyone. Wishing him peace and further motivating work in the future. The best is yet to come~~

We get to see the real Mickey in this interview. Not sure I like the shaggy hair but Mickey definitely exudes charisma here. I have watched his performances from the ‘80s and have also watched everything else he was in during ‘the 90s and 2000’s. The Wrestler was spectacular & full of heart & soul. I also enjoyed Mickey’s performances in Man on Fire, Once upon a Time in Mexico and (especially) The Rainmaker (when he played “Bruiser Stone”). He was lauded for “Sin City” and I even enjoyed “Spun” because of Mickey. Most folks have a favorite Mickey Rourke flick. I did love “The Wrestler” but I also loved “Angel Heart” and “Nine and 1/2 Weeks.” Mickey was the only reason I watched “Iron Man 2” (he and the bird were both great)- and Mickey would be the only reason I might watch “The Expendables.” I thought “Kill Shot” was far better than the critics portrayed and I felt the same way about “Domino.” I have not seen Mickey’s latest performances but I will check them out when I can because of Mickey- nothing more. Overall, Mickey Rourke has been involved in a substantial body of work- much of which continues to appeal to particular audiences. His performances are memorable- most of which are legendary. I am happy to know that Mickey was able to get his life and career back on track. So many of us appreciate the work which has gone into his performances. Much love to you, Mickey. You are not shy about being human and about loving/appreciating your dogs. Mickey reached so many humans through his love of dogs. I sincerely hope that Mickey has found the peace which he deserves- which we all deserve. ❤️✌️

...most people who are heavy boozers and drug users rarely make it out of their thirties...guys like Mickey have either a stronger constitution and/or a very good liver! Studies have shown that some very heavy boozers had minimal damage to their livers because their extraordinary livers could detoxify substances so efficiently.

Unfortunately, the best thing about Mickey Rourke is also the worst thing . He has no filter between his mouth and his brain, and he’s in the wrong line of business to be that way. If you’re going to say fuck ‘em when the guy you’re saying fuck ‘em to is signing your paychecks- then you better be prepared for the consequences.
