this is the best sonic frontiers video i've seen in a while, it's clear how much effort you put into learning everything and putting together the mod! 0:12, 0:36, 0:46 - wow these sound pretty cool

I had no idea the Spiral Mountain of Smash Ultimate was this detailed! Really impressive work you've done here. :D
@DPadGamer7 ай бұрын
Thanks! The Spiral Mountain in Smash Ultimate still has a lot of details I had to prune back or not include. The Smash Ultimate team does fantastic work for levels you only ever kinda see.

If you haven't already, I highly recommend adjusting your stage's FOV to be the same as the open-zone. To do this, open your stage's .rfl file and change the "fov" value to 60. Makes the game feel a lot better with the wider angle.
@DPadGamer7 ай бұрын
I have not done that, but I 1000% will! Thank you so much, the lower fov was really bothering me but had no clue it was even possible to change

I love how there was no banjo mods for frontiers so you where like fine I'll do it myself

Yea :D It is possible theres a banjo-related mod I missed, but I'm happy to add to Banjo representation when possible.

That point where you get jumpscared by a mention of your own tools that you weren't anticipating. In terms of Backface Culling, you should be able to use @CULL(false) to properly turn it off, rather than needing to extrude the face. Yeah the Hedgehog Engine doesn't like materials without at least a diffuse map (except in certain cases) so it just pulls whatever it can, hence that flickering. This happens even as far back as '06, which wasn't even the HE.

Haha, thanks for the work you've done for the sake of Sonic modding!

Now that i think about it, all Banjo-Kazooie franchise in general could work more than perfect for Sonic. Well, maybe in a Open Zone way lol-

I love DPadCreator! I think you should do more videos like these. I love how you’re getting more into Blender ever since you made DPadCrossing.

Finally someone moded a whole new island into frontiers, like when are people gonna mod whole new open world into it

I guess I never specifically said this is not a replacement of an island but instead a replacement of 1-1

great video but why didn't you just use the map from nuts & bolts though?
@DPadGamer7 ай бұрын
Well, a few reasons. Firstly, I didn't think to. Secondly, Nuts & Bolts looks great in some regards, but Banjo's house looks like an abandoned drug den which isn't very good.

you think i might be able to make a mod as well like on a scale of 1 to 10 how hard was it for your 1st mod

The hardest part of the whole thing was my time spent in blender. If you're familiar with blender then it would be a breeze. If not then it'd be challenging but really you don't need to get too complex with blender to get things done.

I looked at this mod and now I feel a bit bad for finding a way out of bounds ( the spindash is extremely powerful ). Also I don't know what the rules are but you could see if you can put this in the sonic hacking contest ( SHC ) 2024 it might bring more attention to the mod. Also I had a very fun time with this mod.
