Aston Martin is expanding its Vantage lineup with the highly anticipated Vantage Roadster, a convertible designed alongside its coupe counterpart. This meticulous approach has enabled Aston Martin to maintain impressive weight control and structural integrity. The Vantage Roadster adds only one hundred thirty-two pounds to the coupe’s weight, ensuring it retains its performance edge.
Under the hood, the roadster is powered by Aston Martin’s robust four-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. This powerhouse delivers an astonishing six hundred fifty-six horsepower and five hundred ninety pound-feet of torque. With a top speed of two hundred two miles per hour and an acceleration time of just three and a half seconds to sixty miles per hour, the Vantage Roadster combines speed and style effortlessly. Drivers manage this power through an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which uses paddle shifters to control power distribution to the rear wheels via an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
The braking system is equally impressive, featuring fifteen-point-eight-inch front and fourteen-point-two-inch rear steel brakes, with six-piston and four-piston calipers, respectively. For those seeking enhanced stopping power, Aston Martin offers carbon ceramic brakes measuring sixteen-point-one inches at the front and fourteen-point-two inches at the rear.
Aston Martin focused on keeping the Roadster as light as possible, employing a Z-fold fabric roof that is not only lighter than traditional designs but also eliminates the need for a tonneau cover. This innovative design contributes to the car’s low center of gravity. Aston Martin claims this is the fastest automatic convertible roof available, folding in just six-point-eight seconds at speeds up to thirty-one miles per hour.
To ensure structural rigidity, the car features weight-optimized sheer panels and a revised body attachment to the rear structure. Rear dampers and gearbox mountings were recalibrated to address changes in weight distribution, achieving an almost perfect balance of forty-nine to fifty-one.
While the folding roof reduces trunk space to seven-point-one cubic feet from the coupe’s twelve-point-two, the Roadster still prioritizes comfort with an eleven-speaker, three-hundred-ninety-watt sound system, with an optional upgrade to a premium Bowers and Wilkins system.
Available in striking new colors-such as Iridescent Sapphire, Satin Iridescent Sapphire, and Bronze Flare-the Vantage Roadster also offers roof color options in black, red, blue, and black and silver. Customers can further personalize their cars through the Q by Aston Martin customization program. Deliveries are expected in the second quarter of this year, although pricing remains undisclosed.
