The Aston is the winner for me. It strikes a perfect balance of being a GT and an event, not to mention the extra perk of those timeless looks. The 12C, named after the very embodiment of the prancing horse, is a slight step backwards. When you consider too that the F80 is a V6, you want that V12 magic to still remain prevalent. A exhaust mod could help yes, but it doesnt have the same sense of occasion as the previous cars.

I think he openly admitted that some of it came down to it versus the old Superfast. He kept coming back to that and so I’m sure there was always some disappointment in this new iteration knowing that they hadn’t kept moving the bar higher. Also he seemed to be smiling more in the AM.
@jansedlak850559 минут бұрын

Maybe because it's a GT car review, but I so much appreciate that sort of presentation, without the usual hysterical laughter and childish excitement demonstrations thrown at us these days. Then drove one and cancelled my order as all I found to be the fun of the 812 was gone. Was never an F12 fan. Very strange suspension, a bit like the Cali. On one hand very soft with a lot of body roll, on the other they somehow managed to make the suspension annoyingly busy. The 812 is planted when you want it to be, and one of the most happy and playful cars that eggs you on when you start to push. For me having driven the F12 and 812 back to back several times, made me have zero doubt as to how good the 812 is.

Both are huge, heavy retro barges. Pretty yes. The reason owners do not even use these cars is fear of huge bills outside warranty periods and the pathetic range when pushing on. It is not just Range Rover or Tesla owners who have range anxiety. Just imagine the garage bill on such big machines if doing say 15,000 km a year. Not to mention the depreciation: these will lose 150 000€ as soon as they leave the showroom. What is the winning formula? V6 2 litre turbo with a 6 speed manual. Less than 1000kg. No larger than a T50. Before anyone whines about a V6, I suggest you look up the Lancia Stratos...say Seb Perez on the Roger Albert Clark rally.
