DPF removal & cleaning on my Mercedes Sprinter campervan. Will it improve the performance of my van?

In this video I remove the DPF(diesel particular filter) from my campervan to clean using a off vehicle cleaner to hopefully help the performance of the van. And I also fire a new rear exhaust & back box to the van.

I recently bought a German made Camper van.... Mercedes 313 CDi.... was a bit disappointed with the performance. Sure, it seemed economical... ... but sluggish. I figured.... well, it's only the 2,2 litre and the van is the LWB heavy version..... I thought I would have to just have to accept it. But then .... I thought.... let's try this: Filled the tank....about 70 litres I believe.... and put in a can of Liqui Moly... (about 10 quid)(Pounds sterling)..... Diesel Injector Cleaner. Wow.... it is transformed.... It actually feels as if the turbo is kicking in and giving you that boost you want. A completely different drive. Put a huge smile on my face....I can tell you!

I used the wynns cleaner and it was good, back flushing was the best thing i found along with using a acid cleaner. Alkaline cleaner like wynss cleans the soot very well but its so good at dislodging the red ash. Diluted brick acid is the cheapest and easiest to get, mine went from 50mbar at idle to 180mbar at 3k rpm down to 5 and 60 at 3k rpm. Checked it at 6 months was still the same, now has been a year reading's are the same after 5k miles you have to make sure the reset the dpf parameter after cleaning and tell it that you have had a new dpf fitted othwerwise it will block up very quick.

Thanks for the advice I will maybe try the brick acid in the future. I just got one of the diagnostic devices so I sorted all that had changed a o2 sensor also so had to clear that 👍

@iancorbett599 you can use drain cleaner, sodium hypochlorite is the acid type that's in both if you don't want a big container of brick acid.
