This video looks like it was made in the late 70's. Till those years, North Korea was the best Korea. I have relatives who studied in USSR and had the opportunity to go there on those days and let me tell you, this invaluable historic footage it's accurate to the situation of NK back on those days. In mid 80's, things started to shift, as South Korea successfully developed, diversified it's economy, made less dependant from US and moved from military junta to democracy. At the same time, NK made itself more dependant on USSR aid. In 90's the Soviet union fall, Kim Il sung died and famine came...

@@itepk0522 Greek history school books do mention this .. yap , i still remember this because back when i was in my 1rst year of highschool , Kim Jong Il died and everybody on Earth , including Greece knew about it . The section of the book where that's mentioned is in the last pages , the parts about 20th century anti colonial independist movements in Africa , Greece's acceptance in NATO and her the subsequent involvement in the Korean War , the "Age of Dictatorships" ( again , 20th century stuff ) , the Soviet Union and globalization . It would've been almost impossible for a greek history book to not mention Korea since the korean war was our 1rst and last major war involvement after WW2 . A small pink section of the book told us about the economic disparity between North and South Korea making clear that the North was far more advanced than the South due to Soviet Union's/China's support up until the 80s . I think the next section was about the so called "Asian Tiger" economies of S.Korea , Taiwan and Singapore . Anyways , you get my gist ; i don't know where you are from but here that stuff is pretty well known

Though we must also understand that the US submarines in south korea, the southkorean governments willingness to do a "premptive strike" on the dprk and the strengthening of US, south korea, and japanese relationships. Is probably also leading to russia and china to be more friendly to the dprk. Nukes at the boarder are always a wake up call.

Back when north korea was in good shape. Thanks to support from the soviet union Back then in the 50’s and 60’s, north korea is wealthier than south korea. After the korean war, Russia gave Kim il sung a head start, he provided tanks, guns and mortars to the military, he also built pyongyang in soviet style architecture, and russia aids north korea with food and education. But during the 90’s north korea’s economy collapsed, due to the fall of the soviet union and disasters which caused a famine, causing millions of deaths. @marxchagallАй бұрын
@ You’re aware they go to the olympics, right? And they have libraries of international books? They have international festivals where people all around the world come to visit. The philosophical pretext for Juche is rooted in the internationalist struggle. They have diplomatic relationships with many countries, including China and Russia. It’s crazy how you don’t see them as human and you’re not even aware of it. The DPRK hosted a World Festival of Youth and Students in 1989 for example, where 20,000 people from 177 countries came to visit. There are KZbinrs that show their life as foreigners in the DPRK, who live there as Southeast Asian Muslims. The blatant racism is insane lmfao
@nopeoppelnАй бұрын
@@marxchagall blatant racism is when you don't believe in an idea that even an average Marxist will tell you is revisionist, so true where did I say that I don't consider them human btw? stop putting words in my mouth
@nopeoppelnАй бұрын
@@marxchagall "The philosophical pretext for Juche is rooted in the internationalist struggle" literally any average Marxist (especially if one doesn't engage in Twitter/YT larping) will tell you that Juche is revisionist, it's literally just a shitty version of Stalinism but with a dynasty, I mean the very concept of hereditary leadership already sounds pretty revisionist to me btw where did I say that I don't consider them human? don't put words in my mouth

The video in which it is expressed: the DPRK is not of a national-chauvinist character, but is for workers everywhere. Any worker can sing this song in the way that expresses it is their country. It encourages the establishment of socialist republics everywhere (even though Korea has not yet established socialism) rather than saying all workers everywhere should move to the DPRK or whatever has been absurdly claimed. It's not discouraged, they would make sure you know the situation there, what your role would be in it as a citizen and how that does and doesn't work, your rights and responsibilities etc. But no, that's not what they were saying.
