It feels good to have an explanation as to why things have been so difficult for us the last few years, & brings renewed hope that with treatment, we will finally be able to welcome a healthy baby.
The autoimmune area is so complex, & with the majority of our results not providing us with answers, this DQ Alpha gene result does. Don't stop fighting for answers, ladies & gents!

~ Conceived naturally after a couple months trying, ended in missed miscarriage at 9w4d- Oct 2014
~ D&C
~ Laparoscopy surgery after 1 unsuccessful year of TTC following first miscarriage- Nov 2015
~ Surgery revealed blocked tubes due to infection following D&C
~ Conceived naturally prior to starting IVF, ended in another missed miscarriage at 7w6d- Feb 2016
~ Another D&C
~ Conceived naturally again prior to starting IVF, ended in chemical pregnancy- March 2016
~ IVF #1- April 2016
~ Fresh embryo transfer ended in chemical pregnancy with 0 embryos frozen
~ IVF #2- June 2016
~ Fresh embryo transfer ended in chemical pregnancy with 1 embryo frozen
~ Conceived naturally, slow rising HCG & ended in blighted ovum- Sept 2016
~ Yet another D&C
~ FET #1, never happened as our 1 frozen embryo didn't survive the thawing process- Dec 2016
~ IVF #3- May 2017
~ FET #2- September 2017- Heartbreaking BFN with PGS normal embryo...
~ Another Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy surgery- November 2017.... TUBES NO LONGER BLOCKED!
Praying for this rollercoaster to end happily soon!
After 6 pregnancy losses, 9 surgeries, (including egg collections), & almost 4 years of receiving bad news after bad news, we are ready for this 'bad luck' to end & to finally hold our longed for rainbow baby in our arms.

I am right there with you. 2 early losses(6&8weeks). My ivf dr keeps saying he doesn't understand why as its unexplained. We are now going with a gestational carrier. I do plan to try again one day. I'm just praying for my take home baby/babies. This journey is very hard. I do realize now we are strong and we are fighters. As we keep fighting to have our families.

Thank goodness you didn't give up and kept pushing to get the testing done that you needed!! I just cannot believe your previous doctors were so resistant to checking every possible option because obviously their treatments weren't working!! Ugh! 10-15 percent of couples! That means it is seemingly rare and most doctors probably don't see it. I am so deeply happy that you were your own advocate and pushed for the answers that you deserved to have. I can't imagine how you are feeling. I have learned that anything TTC related is stressful when you have nothing but failed cycles and losses(even when successful, it doesn't feel real and the fear is always there). Throughout your treatments for this- keep in mind how hard you worked and how far you have come. There is a reason for that. You will have a baby in your arms. I am so, so happy for you.

I'm so glad you got your hands on a copy of this book. I feel so strongly that it's THE go-to book for unexplained infertility. I was also surprised at how many 'specialists' who hadn't even heard of it. I used to take notes from it and take it to my appointments. If a consultant hadn't heard of the book, I used it as my gauge to whether they would be helpful and open-minded.

This may sound strange and I know the struggle is difficult but you look happier now that you have an answer. As if one weight has been lifted off your shoulders! WHAT SHE SAID⬇️. I think if i said OMG 20!times it was WAY too few!!!! I cannot believe this!!! This right here is EXACTLY why we have the IVF community..to learn from each other!!!! How many more cases of unexplained infertility is out there on KZbin looking right this second and just found your video and just freaked out the way that I just did and my infertility is just because I am straight up old! I can’t even explain how excited I am for you sweet girl!!! You SO deserve this!! So wonderful you are finally getting some real answers. I was dx with unexplained infertility 25 years ago. I went through 2 years of "treatments" (not nearly as much as you have!) and finally achieved a perfect pregnancy which resulted in my son through my first IVF fresh cycle. My next frozen embryo attempt failed and we went on to adopt our 2 daughters. I wish you SO much luck and love in the upcoming year. You will be a wonderful mother to your child.

This is so amazing. I feel fertility specialists should more freely offer tests such as this before charging $10K or more for an IVF cycle. All these things make me wonder if this is why my husband and I could never have a successful transfer. It's too late for us now, but I'm happy to see the advances in fertility treatment and the things they are discovering each and every day. As quickly as new information on treatment is gathered, information that changes views on how past approaches were handled, and considering how often current treatments end without pregnancy, I feel no fertility specialist should consider him or herself an expert and should be open to study and learn new techniques. They should take advantage of new tests that give answers before jumping in head first and treating a couple the same way as before with only minor tweaks ultimately ending in tremendous heartbreak. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. I have no doubt you have given many couples information they can present to their doctors and I have no doubt there are many doctors who have very little knowledge of this. This is a reminder to all to never stop learning, even when you are the best of the best.
