Hi Celeste, So glad you are getting answers and that you are going to try again..yay! This month I did immune suppression with prednisone and it worked,I also was on fragmin (blood thinner) just to cover everything by chance there is any clotting issue. Start the prednisone and see how you feel,maybe you might want to wait a month before transferring but always go with your gut💕 I went on prednisone on Day 1 and did my transfer the same month with one of my lower grade embryos ( BB) I only transferred one and so far 🤞 we are pregnant again. I go for my beta Monday..I will be 4 weeks. I wish all the best and I can keep you updated on how this pregnancy goes taking the prednisone if you like. You and Tim are both in my heart and thoughts❤️

Hi Celeste I am on an immune suppressing protocol and I have been told I need to take the meds for two cycles before trying so my NK cells levels are low enough for a pregnancy to take place. I am on hydroxychloroquine this time around and will also have intralipids from positive test and every 4 weeks to 16 weeks. I am also on baby asprin along with omega 3, D3 and pregnanvare prenatals. Again I have had to take these 2 months before trying again. I am so glad that you found the LIT treatment. Also pleased to know it’s available in the UK. I would try this avenue if this next protocol fails for us. Fingers crossed for you! I have a great feeling
@TimandCeleste

Thanks for sharing your protocol! The reproductive immunologist I had a phone consult with following this video said I would need to be on steroids/immune suppressants for around 6 weeks prior to a transfer. So I guess around the 2 month mark sounds ideal. I discovered when watching the Dr Sher webinar, that people with alloimmune dysfunction need to be on intralpids for longer than those with an autoimmune problem. He said alloimmune patients need to be on intralipids up until the 24th week of pregnancy. It's interesting how the importance of duration differs between the two different immunological issues. Praying your immune suppressing protocol works for you!! Keep me posted- will be thinking of you

Makes me think....("you should just relax and it will happen") Can you imagine if you had listened to that 'useful' advice, or if you had just listened to your Dr's?...(After all they went to medical school). You have done an amazing job researching and advocating for yourself and getting to the bottom of things.

I'm so happy things are ramping up! It may be that within a month you will be optimally suppressed. My guess is that peak level will last a few months and then begin slowly to decline until you hit that 6 month mark? I can see, if you are not sure, taking an extra month would probably be fine (just based on how you feel). Ultimately you don't want to have doubts about that because I'm guessing you want to eliminate that as a doubt (if things don't work). Also how nice would it be for it to just happen naturally! I already decided even before my surgery to take an extra cycle more than required before planning a transfer... I just don't want to wonder if I was fully healed if the embies don't implant. Ive totally watched most of Dr Sher's webinars (so amazing to have as resources) and my clinic is connected to his original practice.
@TimandCeleste
@TimandCeleste 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'd say the first few months would be the peak level- I need to find that out for sure, but it would make sense. If that is the case, perhaps it would be best to do our FET sooner rather than later. Yes, eliminating doubt as much as possible is so important! I probably would've done the same as you following surgery. Oh yes, aren't we lucky to have the resources we have online! xx

I always look forward to your videos, you’re one of the few infertility youtubers who has (unfortunately) had similar struggles as I have. After my 5th loss, a loss of a PGS normal embryo, I’m strongly of the belief that I have some type of immune system disorder. I also have premature ovarian failure and the ones that I do have are chockful of imbalances and translocations. I’m 26 but my eggs are that of someone 20+ years older than me. Wondering if that’s immune related too. You really have encouraged me to keep going, to be strong and to keep fighting! I’ve found a new RE who is more aggressive, and is open to reproductive immunology as a developing field. I wish all the best for you and Tim, and I truly hope that LIT is it, and that your frozen embryo is healthy and strong and results in a healthy little one born around the end of the year!

I'm so sorry you've experienced similar struggles! Sounds like you have something immunological going like me too. I have read that immune issues can have a negative affect on egg quality. I'm so glad to read you've found a proactive & experienced sounding RE who has an open mind! Thank you so much for your kind words :) Wishing you nothing but the best too! Please keep me posted on how you go with your new RE. Sending all love & many prayers your way! xo

Thank you so so much for getting more women to see Dr Sher's webinar!!! I do not want others to suffer so much. Could you ask your consultant where in the UK LIT treatment is offered as in UK?? The various national fertility websites send me round and round to each other and none answer a basic question of where a treatment is available...they basically say contact all of therm in the UK after the run around. I would really really like to know. I am wondering whether if I tried embryo adoption would I need treatment. I think....and I spend much my time thinking that if I were you Celeste, I would try FET into healthy young (possibly not a relative) surrogate AND try naturally at the same time. Best video yet. Xxx

Such a great webinar! Thanks so much for sharing it with me!! I can try to find out where in the UK LIT is available. Sounds like it's been a struggle for you to find someone though! I don't think I'm at the point of going down the surrogacy path just yet. It's so challenging here in Victoria, with some pretty crazy laws. I'm not at all against it as an option for the future, but I'm just not ready to give up my hopes of being pregnant & staying pregnant. I want to at least give this treatment plan a go & pray it works.. xxx

Only difference i know between dexa and prednisone is.. dexa passes placenta barrier... so prednisone considered to be considerably safe. You can ask about Dhea and Melatonin CoQ10 and vit E to improve egg quality in case you consider natural or fresh ivf to Reproductive immunologist. Mine in Sydney added that to me. With immune problems.. amino acid content also reduces so.. L' agenine also helps alot. Due to steroids bones get weak, so vit d is what specialist also added.

Ah ok, good to know! Thank you! I've been on Melatonin, Ubiquinol (CoQ10), vitamin E & D for almost a year now- started taking them a couple of months prior to my 3rd IVF stim cycle. Never heard of L'agenine, so I'll be sure to look that one up- thank you! :)

Celeste, Dexamethasone and Prednisone are doing the same. There is also Prednisolone which does‘t pass the placenta. The other two do. Maybe you ask your specialist about it.

I am a patient of Dr. Sher. I am going to Las Vegas in May from NYC for treatment. He did the HLA and HQ alpha panel on me and my Husband.. turns out we are an EXACT match for both genes. We are looking at alloimmunity in conjunction with Natural Killer Cells...i am devastated but it is so great to finally have answers....

I hope it works for you both! Why is your consultant suggesting a transfer in March? Is it because he wants to make sure you'd be 4 months or so pregnant and thinks the more pregnant you are, the less chance of miscarriage? If so, probably better to do the transfer first, then try naturally if that doesn't work. My clinic stopped offering embryo glue because the medical evidence was that outcomes were worse than without it. Also, your issue doesn't seem to be implantation, it seems to be a post-implantation issue that's causing your pregnancies not to continue, so not sure how embryo glue would help you? It sounds as if you're in the right track with the immunes - good luck!

Hi Celeste please excuse the profile picture it’s of my son.. I have been trying for baby no 2 for 11 years and I actually have an autoimmune disorder which my specialist for that has said there can be difficulties with implantation! I have seen multiple fertility specialists in Melbourne and have spent almost $100’s of thousands on treatment with very little help.. Please can you share with me You fertility specialist name and where they are based as I need to find someone who understands autoimmune and can help us Thank you in advance Kim

I am further down alloimmune/autoimmune recurrenmiscarriage journey...and time, than where you are, and you are closer to testing answers and diagnosis. Here is something to ponder, if I had a 12th natural conception I would go for LIT, steroids, blood thinners, intralipids until 24 weeks and progesterone pessaries (in UK if I can find LIT specialist). There are 3 other options. If I go for egg donation and husbands sperm would I have to go for full treatments as reaction to husbands alloimmune stuff is back where I have always been, just with less related younger egg. Surviving son's sperm and donor egg might bypass alloimmune problem and no treatment needed, if he had the magic gene combination (no treatment pregnancy, full term), also would be grandchild we would be equally related to! A 3rd option is totally unrelated embryo as might need no treatment. Any thoughts, as I value your thoughts. Maybe try all 3 options with and without treatments....life not long enough.

Tim and Celeste's first child might well be a boy, as there was a study done some years ago, that I read, written in Sweden or Norway about secondary infertility involving recurrent miscarriage, where a much higher proportion of cases, the first surviving child was male, followed by recurrent miscarriages. My first and only surviving child is male, after two miscarriages, and followed by eight later miscarriages. You two have a better chance than I had to have more than one child, with the testing and knowledge you sought so hard for.

If they suppress you well enough it's very possible you could fall pregnant naturally considering your surgery results. Did your doctor say how long through this process before you are suppressed to the level he feels you should be? Stay well during this time, catching a virus is your biggest threat at the moment. Doing this during the summer and not flu season is wise.

If you are both heterozygous for dqalfa, 25% of embryos will be purebred, 50% heterozygous, and 25% free of gene mutations by my thinking. This makes sense based on my results of ten losses, one was trisomy so not of concern. Nine losses, and one success...10% success rate, so maybe 75% odds against me, 25% chance of success....on top of regular loss risk...weak eggs, conditions, etc, so chances less than 25% for me. You have more hope with more and better treatments from earlier in your journey..
