Surely proving that Scotland can stand alone. Good governance. Good political steering. Free float the Scottish pound. Build it up. Go for it. I really hope that if it's the will of the people then good luck. Make a success of independence. But I don't think the SNP are the party to deliver it. .. Colonialism? ??????? Wasn't it Scotland who asked for the union .????

No. The opposite. Scotlands people were not given any choice re the so called union in 1707. This was forced on Scotland, by blackmial, bribes to elites and backed up by the threat of military invasion. So no, your comments are 100% wrong. In the 2014 referendum on the union, 53% of Scots voted to dissolve the union. Unfortunately, non Scots in Scotland voted in sufficient numbers against independence and swung the vote in favour of the NO votes.

A handfull of Scottish lairds, who were in hock because of their failed Panama exercise brokered the deal, the Scottish people rioted against it to such an extent the deal had to be signed in a secret location, while the folk rioted in Edinburgh. There was an English army at the border and a navy blockade off the coast at the time of the signing.

Problem is England WILL provoke conflict before it lts scotland go... the UN route will be in TANTUM to possible civil unrest against the British state come that time,... there won't be any other way, the English won't tuck tail and run from a cash cow 😂
