That was a fantastic interview. Especially in the last segment where Dr. Goswami spoke on the subject of quantum activism; how communities of consciously aware people can create brain circuits of love; how consciously aware people can create marketplaces where vital energies are sold as commodities that have more useful purposes than the empty consumer-based marketplaces we have today. Good stuff.

I have read Goswami, but listening to him explain his ideas made everything so much more clear (Perhaps because of the vitality in his voice activates some part of my consciousness that the printed word does not!). What a wonderful interview, and what a genuine, earnest soul he is. I hope that everyone who listens really gets the part about manifesting our awareness in the world, which requires that we really think about and clarify our highest ideals for ourselves, and commit to putting them into action in our every day lives. We will probably fall short, as Mr. Goswami admits that he does, but through action, we reinforce our good intentions, and through our commitment, we help create planetary morphogenic fields that will foster and support human and planetary healing, awakening and transformation. Another wonderful interview, Alain. Thank you again.

Well, there is still some gaps in the understanding of the relationship of consciousness and the material universe, even if is indeed a very good dialogue. For example, the concept of non-locality of consciouness is not clarified: if he considers that there is one conscious being in each one of us or if there is only a potential Conscious field everywhere and becoming real according to the geomorphic interactions going on.

David Schwind I also want to believe Goswami, but there is no evidence-based connection between the quantum enigma and consciousness. There are physical (rather than metaphysical) explanations for it, that require less dramatic leaps in argumentation. For example, the observer effect you refer to in the double split experiment has caused this misunderstanding because of the definition of the word 'observer' in the term. It does not mean observer in the colloquial sense, i.e. the consciousness of the scientist - it means observer as in the 'measurement problem' of QM. That is, when at the subatomic level the method of measurement being used disturbs the behaviour of the particles being studied. On the macro scale, this is vaguely analogous to when you try to measure the air pressure in a tyre and some air escapes in the process of applying the measuring instrument.Point being, there's no suggestion the observer effect (in the double-slit electron experiment, or in any other) is connected to consciousness - there is unfortunately a quantifiable/physical explanation. I would be happy to be challenged on this.

Tommy Gun No, this is rather missing the point. The word 'observer' in observer effect has little to do the faculty of sight. It concerns the physical disturbances caused by the instrumental measuring of the electron in the DS experiment. IE. no woo involved

After listening to about an hour of Dr Goswami on various KZbin recordings I can say this "happy physicist's" inspiration and his explanations of quantum possibilities, upward and downward causation, grounded consciousness, signaless communication and how all objects are waves of possibilities "ring" right within the context of personal experiences 25+ years ago that led me to discover Drs Roger Penrose and Stuart Hameroff and their work on the physical basis of consciousness possibly originating in neuronal (and other?) cytoskeletal microtubules. ("Orch OR", etc.) Pulling specific quotes from the above recording that ring right to my ear... If "consciousness is the ground of all being" and "signaless communication" (quantum non locality) is possible then "consciousness is non local." "It is not anywhere, as such". "It can only be expressed in paradoxical language." "It takes place outside space and time." "No 'signal' is involved." Goswami's "signaless communication" is nearly exactly how I have described for over 25 years a "shining" experience that so plainly broke "known laws" of science that I knew immediately science was missing something cool. I am glad to learn that we've come a long way toward sorting this out a little, amidst a widening audience, and I am happy to see too that Penrose's & Hameroff's work of over 2 decades has recently received some "hard science" vindication with some new study confirming key aspects of their "controversial" theories. See that interesting story here: www.bioquicknews.com/node/1532

Awareness is a measure of consciousness. everything is consciousness but different things can channel more or less awareness. It is an energy that flows through us. That flow or channeling is what we perceive as the passing of time. Of course today we know that particle physics is dead and there is no "matter":)

@@chaosal13 We stream consciousness from Source/God/42, whatever. That steaming is what we perceive as the passing of Time. Proof - If you are familiar with the Double Slit Experiment, it has been a mystery to scientists forever... but not to me. The Wave never collapses. We perceive the Wave to be in a location when we detect it. At that point, it becomes a moment in Time. What it actually scientifically proves is, Creation is NOW, always now. That is scientifically supported by the fact that when we get excited, or in danger, we channel more Consciousness, faster, have the effect of slowing Time for us, and yes that has been proven. It is also supported by the simple fact, that we can ONLY make memories in the moment of Creation. Our reality is created in real Time... so yes, it is real, and simple:)

The realization that consciousness and physics (the material world and laws of it) are one in the same is an amazing way to think of this universe and our place in it. On the tiniest level physicists find that all matter is made of vibrating strings with different modes of vibration making for different particles. Wouldn't that mean that what we think of as a solid object is really just a vibrational field of intelligent energy when you get below the obvious physical matter of it. Isn't that also what our consciousnesses and life force is also made of- a certain mode of vibrating energy, field of pure awareness and intelligence -like strings? That would be the grand unified theory of everything for sure, that everything manifests from the same field and all is really just one thing happening simultaneously. I refer to that field as "the well-spring" : an original and bountiful source.

+robert cuthill Yes, I think your idea comes very close to what it is all about. I have the same idea. I always make the analogy with one big ocean (unified field) and every single wave, ripple or whirlpool is a manifestation from that source (just like every single physical object in the universe is a manifestation of the source field) that eventually merges back into the ocean. If you think about it: every atom or particle that makes up your physical body today, once was part of another manifestation. If you know that every day your body makes millions of new cells every single day, it are not even the same particles as yesterday. And it has always been there. And it will never disappear after your death. It will simply transform into something else.

Everything exists within this one unified ocean of awareness. The mind likes to interpret things as separateness as in "this" or "that". A wrong perception that needs to be thrown away. One unified field of existence with awareness at it's very core.

This interview of Dr. Amit was amazing and perhaps I don't understand, but I find him to contradicting himself. In this interview he was giving vast information about consciousness and how he is looking to find "love". but at the same time he says the up most level of this conscious hierarchy is to be informed. that is to know that you are nothing, but at same time you exist. If you are nothing than why is love such a big factor? But anyway this was a mind blowing interview by Dr. Goswami.

The best way to explain this is to dumb down consciousness to the level of electrical activity in the brain that is aware of its own electrical potential within its own ref-frame. It is this process of each one of us having our own ref-frame that gives the brain the concept of mind with each one of us having our own unique view of life from the centre of our own ref-frame. This is an invitation to see an artist theory of the physics of time!

For many of us (CERTAINLY for me and people I know), both our study of science and our pursuit of spiritual depth and practice, never felt whole and grounded in the truth of who we are/God is, until this concept evolved and was brought into the light. He is certainly not the only one espousing the entwining of God, thought and the Universe. MANY, MANY more scientists than ever are recognizing and speaking of the glorious, mysterious, inseparable union of science and spirituality. It is not God or even us who separates the way things work form HOW they work! It's not a sterile science. It's not a sterile religious practice, lived in a vacuum. They exist co-together, intrinsically intertwined as a rich and meaningful way of explaining the why and how of everything! What is YOUR purpose!!! To eat, work, procreate and die? No. We are here for a purpose. Use your brain, mind and body for something that is larger than your basic needs. This is why we have such a great need to be affirmed and connected (despite our harm to each other, driving a wedge between us), noticed, acknowledged, loved, and connected. This is why we try to explain why things are the way they are! Meaning, purpose, and love!

The overall structure of our top-down Platonic universe, where monads are quanta by Roger B. Clough (10/26/14) Abstract Here we briefly describe the universe as being simultaneously mental (as monads or quanta) and physical (as bodies or particles of matter). These particles or bodies also have a range of what Leibniz calls perfection, and they indirectly interact such that a more perfect body makes a less perfect body more perfect, the more perfect evolving toward the supreme perfection of the One. The mental sphere (Mind) contains not only monads in the form of quanta but a pre-established harmony (PEH) as well as forces (which are ideas), which can act on them, of which there are two kinds: a) physical forces, which act on mass (as linear momentum) and on spin (angular momentum) and b) electrical forces, which act on the charge of a particle. Mind also contains the powers of creation, reasoning, experiencing, and perception , and control. Mind controls matter just as mind controls the brain. Introduction and discussion The platonic universe consists of two halves of a single entity which we might call the Absolute : comprising the One and the Many, or Self (subject) and Other (object) , as in Fichte. The structure is completely cybernetic, by which we mean that all causation is mental and top-down.. The purely mental or subjective One or singular ruling creator and governor, is a purely mental subject (first person singular) . The Many, its monadic objects, consist of a network of an infinity of mental monads, all alive and conscious to various extents, as well as the physical bodies in spacetime described by them. These bodies. while we call them physical, are actually phenomenal. They move in spacetime only according to the pre-established harmony (PEH), The PEH is not entirely deterministic. Higher order living entities move in various degrees purposefully, by what Aristotle called "final causation". Life is a property of all of the universe of particles, where by life we mean autonomous intelligence, freely able to make its own selections at least according to the PEH. This intelligence is that of Mind, and since Mind causes all and creates all, it is Mind out of which the Big Bang exploded. Time and space are phenomenal, not actual entities, but instead are simply the four dimensions of spacetime , x, y, z and t. These are mathematical or phenomenal variables, not real entities. At the same time, spacetime and the objects in it appear as real when experienced, either by perception or measurement. Thus Leibniz does not consider the everyday world as an illusion, you can still stub your toe in it and perform experiments. Leibniz thus calls this phenomenal world "well-founded". Closing We close by summarizing Plato-Leibniz's conception of the universe, which Bertrand Russell dismissed in passing as a fairy tale-- a vain remark, since Russell never proposed an alternate working model. Plato's universe is cybernetic (top-down), which makes it largely analytic, except for the fact that in the case of life, Aristotle's final causation (purposeful action ) is invoked. In contrast, Panpsychism seems, to this author at least, to be mob rule. There is also Whitehead's metaphysics, but I prefer the computer-like rationality of Plato-Leibniz. So, to summarize Plato-Leibniz's universe: 1. The universe is governed on the large scale mentally and necessarily (if we are to avoid conflict) by a single monarch (the One). This creates all, perceives all, and causes all action mentally, not physically, through Plato's cybernetic, top-down administration. 2. Here space and time only exist as spacetime, which is an artifact (like a map) created locally by the presence of mass in particles or bodies. Spacetime is not a reality, it is simply the mathematical path as curved by the mass. 3. On the small scale, the rules of Leibniz's Monadology come into effect. The universe is made up completely of physical matter in the form of distinct and completely independent bodies moving in spacetime according to the PEH , which is the practical form of the One's control. 4. Each particle or physical body has two simultaneous versions: in spacetime the body is a conventional physical body but it also has a mental mirror version in mental space called a monad. Monads are simply the quantum or mental forms of the particles. 5. Thus we have the One, which controls the Many (the particles or physical bodies with corresponding simultaneous mental monads 6. The particles are behaviorally characterized through through three indexes of force- spin, charge and mass. Charge is a single pole of electromagnetic force. 7. Mass and spin are mechanical , with mass corresponding to linear momentum and spin corresponding to angular momentum of the particle about an axis. Thus each particle is moved either by charge or by momentum. 8. This PEH is simply a top-down cybernetic (mathematical) structure based at the lowest level largely on Einstein's relativity theories, as well as other deterministic theories such as electromagnetic theory, and the broader, nonlocal (entangled) and less deterministic theories of statistical mechanics and thermodynamics. Physics has yet to recognize the nonlocal character of thermodynamics, especially evident in its conservation laws. -- Dr. Roger B Clough NIST (retired, 2000). Please respond to... Virtual Particles, Quantum Physics and Consciousness First off, there is a lot of misconception behind quantum physics theory and mathematical probability and how math is applied only as a tool to understand what we need to define as reality.

Unlike our civilization currently, the Egyptian civilization (Pyramids) lived by the understanding of this concept. The Pyramids were built not as tombs for Pharos but as vital energy sources for the people. If you don't understand what Dr. Goswami is proposing in this interview watch "The Pyramid Code" 5 episodes, you will be able to join the dots.

Zeke could it be that everything he says is based in science and it's just that you don't understand it yet. This thing is in levels, layers, degrees. Somethings remain a mystery until we are at a level to understand them. And I'm not just speaking to you it's true for all of us. It's a process. We can't make it happen but if our intent, focus and striving is in that direction it will gradually open like a flower. It's a process, a flow, it's life and it's wonderful. But it's not often easy.

Rick Negus Sure, that's OK, so tell me, what part of his explanation of the amoeba evolving the human consciousness did you like? He doesn't even give a time line of this evolution between the amoeba and God. Or is that 666CERN's field of study? I didn't like that he made his field of study so "Oh so above everybody, surely they must just accept it", .. just like Lawrence Krauss and Dawkins. But then I don't appreciate anyone who tries to create our Creator God by combining religious science with mythology of the supernatural. Hello Mr. Negus, thanks for your reply.

A lot of what Dr. Amit says is based on ancient Vedic teaching of India which I ascribe to. Nobody says you have to believe a word he says, your beliefs are yours as mine are mine, I accept what Amit says because it fits my belief system, it is not something I need to argue about or convince you or anyone else about it's "rightness". I believe that Amit is a brilliant man with a great gift, that is my belief, nothings says that you must agree with. Blessings Rik

Rick Negus I understand, people love religions and their fantastic, and sometimes interesting stories, only I'm through with religions and the emptiness they offer. There is a reality out there that I want to experience, I just thought he might have something there. By all means, enjoy the ride friend, and no, there is no law we have to agree with him, .. not yet anyways, but a New Religious Universal View is well on its way. I guess until that happens, who cares, we have tens of thousands of religions at our disposal, confusing things where people no longer can tell where religion, or reality even begins? Once science is totally taken over and redefined by religion under a One World Order, and it's just about done, that's when the horror begins, again, .. as history shows. God bless friend. Odon

Nice interview. IMO, it still goes back to the rise of the I in consciousness and then the agreement that the I is an object in space and time. There seems to be two distinct choices there...I, as an object in space-time or I, as the infinite being. Once one has transcended the idea of I, as object, what rules will remain for whom? The whole thing seems like a thought based and adopted reality but not necessarily the actuality. Very much like the virtual simulation that is now being suggested

The problem now we have is that we currently don't have any means to measure or quantify or units to measure, the consciousness. And it currently remains only an experience.I would say a good way to compare should be before the advent of electricity by humans, and understanding of the way it works, if some one got an electric shock it would have been just an experience for him.And having an experience of electric shock will not make the person capable of either defining or quantifying it ...

Consciousness, perception and thinking. A theory of mind according to platonic physics. You will not find an explanation as understandable as this in the current Stanford Leibniz site, which is incomplete as it makes no mention of Mind. 1. Plato's Mind (the One, the Self) is the cause agent, the singular cybernetic control point, of all perception, thinking and doing in the universe, where control is top down from Mind. 2. Plato's Mind is timeless and spaceless, and being the only Reality, time and space are not ultimately real, but are artificial constructions. 3. Since Mind is mental, not physical, all control and causation is mental, not physical, and top down, since Mind is the singular (cybernetic) control point at the top. 4. Thus Mind plays the brain like a violin, not the reverse. 5. Man's mind (small m) is a passive mental subset, or monad, of Mind and under its control. 6. This monad (our mind) is the mental correspondent of the brain and controls it. Our mind plays our brain like a violin. 7. Thinking is the intentional action of Mind (and thus mind) on mental entities such as ideas, manipulating and transforming them intentionally (through will). 8. Qualia are simply sensory experiences, the conversion by Mind of sensory nerve signals into mental sensory experiences in a fashion similar to the conversion of physical sensory nerve signals into mental images. 9.. AQs Dennett has explained, In materialist thinking, there is no end to homunculi viewing the universe through a chain of homunculi. Leibniz terminates this infinite regress by making the last viewer the Self , which is at a higher level and suitably equipped. 10. Perception occurs as Mind converts physical sensory signals in the brain into mental experiences in one's mind. 11. These experiences can be made conscious (are made aware) by reperceiving or thinking them. This is called apperception by Leibniz. Thus consciousness is apperception. 12. The universe, according to Leibniz, is viewed directly by the One (the Self, the ONLY true perceiver), which views these scenes discretely and in sequence (analogous to snapshots) at discrete points as a whole indirectly through the totality of individual monads, and from their own perspectives. 13. This totality of sets of individual perceptions is then distributed in the proper order and perspective to each of the monads in the universe. 14. These individual sets are called "perceptions", and must be distributied in this indirect fashion by Mind because each monad, in order to remain an individual, has no "windows", to use Leibniz's term. 15. The perceptions are made up of what the monad would see of its nearby neighbors if it were allowed to do so. This is purely mental, but allows us to speak in terms of spacial distances and directions, through these snapshots, between physical bodies, which Mind, being spaceless, cannot actually directly. 16. Mind is also timeless, so that time is physically "created" as an artifact through the actual motions of physical bodies in physical spacetime. 15. Intelligence is the nonphysical ability to freely make autonomous choices. It is a faculty of nonphysical Mind, the Nothing out of which the physical universe exploded in the Big Bang. 17. Another name for this nonphysical intelligence is "life." Leibniz maintained that the entire universe is alive. 18. Each monad is perpetual, created at the beginning of the universe and only annihilated by Mind. 19. Since monads can contain other monads, they can. as plants do through seeds, and humans do through sexual reproducxtion, produce subsequent generations. 20. A robot or computer has no Mind or Self which has the wide bandwidth, intelligence and intentionality to actually perceive , think, or do things, such as Mind does. So, being without Mind, computers can have no actual intelligence or life. 21. The current theory of mind is materialist. In contrast to the above, it uses the usual decapitated, mindless, or where mind is at best an abstract entity, not a living presence as in the above. The materialist model of perception, thinking and doing, being Mindless, is dead. DSG Dr. Roger B Clough NIST (retired, 2000). means and methods can be different ..and so could be the experience ..but the conclusion would be the same. The problem of this world is that everyone want to argue that their means is the best, and in this argument the importance of conclusion is lost.

Interesting video! This is an invitation to see an artist theory on the physics of light and time! This theory is based on just two postulates 1. Is that the quantum wave particle function Ψ or probability function represents the forward passage of time itself 2. Is that Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle ∆×∆p×≥h/4π that is formed by the w-function is the same uncertainty we have with any future event within our own ref-frame that we can interact with turning the possible into the actual!

For the most cogent explanations about advancing human consciousness, I found some books on Amazon called The Evolution of Consciousness series by Endall Beall. These books so far overshadow everything in the marketplace about consciousness studies that it is ridiculous. I can't recommend these books highly enough.
