I commented a number of months ago on Art's view that high fat diets cause fatty liver disease. I found that to be highly objectionable if by "high fat" he was referring to things like avocados, coconut oil, grass fed butter, olive oil, etc. A number of other people also posted comments to similar effect. A new interview on High Intensity Health (sorry for posting another site Tim but I suspect that site would be pleased to refer people back to your site) seemed to clear up that issue. In case Art or others have a chance to listen to it, in that interview Dr. Lyn Patrick I think refers to enough research to put that issue to rest (spoiler: although it is obviously more nuanced, at least good fats, including some types of saturated fats, do not cause fatty liver disease, however glucose and particularly fructose are primary contributors). Here is the link to the interview. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qobLnKGjqsanmdk That said, what Art is doing is obviously working well for him and that's great, but I do think the low fat approach has caused a great deal of problems for many people over the past 50 or so years.

Very interesting talk. But I must say the audio quality is quite poor. Art's voice keep going up and down och theres alot of artefacts and sibilants.

Tim u need to get Jordan Peterson on ur show
@themusic68087 жыл бұрын
I don't think that would be a good fit. The bulk of Jordan's work revolves around politics and Tim has stated before he doesn't like to discuss politics or topics of debate on the podcast. There are a ton of podcasts for that. Tim created the podcast as more of a way to learn skills to get better at things....which Peterson being a psychologist knows about but he's sort of on a separate crusade right now lol

What a coincidence, people are always asking me too what I use for cognitive enhancement. I must get asked that question about ten times a day.

Some of what he says is directly contradicted by scientific evidence.

"Some" What sort of comment is that?
@AlecBerg5 жыл бұрын
@@Myrmecia I don't know what part is contradicted but if some of what Art says is false, how can you trust any of it? But "scientific evidence" is constantly changing. Eat a high carb diet for instance.
@Myrmecia5 жыл бұрын
@@AlecBerg But is it false? Art's paradigm of "evolutionary fitness" is irrefutable. Perhaps the different evidence each of us brings to that paradigm paints a different picture for each of us, but the paradigm is rock solid. At 34:00 Tim Ferris tries to shift Art from his big picture straight into recommendations for breakfast and Art impatiently responds - 34:10 - "Well, whatever suits you". Art has always suffered from half educated and ill-informed people who are like Tim: "cut the theory, don't make me think, just tell me what to do".
