I've suffered from insomnia for 40 years, I think fear is at its root not feeling safe in the world, feelings of low self worth, all beginning in childhood. It's about learning to love yourself, a relationship with the Lord, good pre and probiotics.

It is easy to say but difficult to practice. I can understand and feel the empathy. Try to walk bere foot on the grass in the early morning as much as possible. Connecting to the nature and keeping the mind in peace. Peace mind I mean do not think too much it will keeps your mind rest less. So restless mind is not good for our health.

I learned all that long time ago. I’ve had insomnia for over 10 years, and I’ve finally realized that my problem is a nervous exhaustion. If I stress out for any reason during the day, I already know that I’ll have a problem falling asleep, and will wake up with a headache. So try natural remedies to calm down before you go to bed. If my day was relaxing, I can use my iPad or a phone in bed, I can eat and drink before bed, and I will still fall asleep when I want to.

No no what this lady tells you is very true I have experienced having sleep problems when I have eaten heavy meals heavy meal means both too much in number and too difficult kind of food the digestive system to digest like fats but if you ask why you sleep well despite eating? The answer is simply because you did not eat the kind and amount of food that will disturb sleeping so fact is eating disturbs sleeping although you some times don't feel and your body is tolerant

I can hardly ever sleep more than 6 hours even after my retirement. But I do feel the need to take a nap in the afternoon. Would the day nap count as part of the total sleep time? And I follow all of your recommendations except of avoiding the iPad at night. But I had the same problem before the advents of electronic gadgets. There must be some genetic factors that predisposes people to different sleep capacity. My son is like me but my wife and daughter can never be caught with less than 8 hours of sleep.

Hi! About your post : The afternoon sleep is called a 'power sleep'__in Islam the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) , recommends us to sleep for half an hour in the early afternoon. This nap invigorates the body , so that the person is capable of waking up for the night prayer at around 3 o'clock (which is optional) ; a time when the person is most Connected to his Creator......

Just to have a sensitivity to the need for sleep is the beginning. Much of what is suggested here is specific to the individual. It costs one nothing to experiment. My experience is that the pattern is important. You retire early, no food post supper, some water, a book and then an (especially) early morning. The body adjusts in a few weeks & looks forward to this nocturnal liturgy.

I hate the AI voices used in these videos. They are very annoying with mispronunciations of very simple words.

Who sleep 8 hours a night seriously come on I'll say thank you very much if I have six hours And why would you waste third of your life sleeping????
@LLJ142

You have the choice to sleep less nobody is forcing you but when you sleep 8 hours and sleeping early you actually get more done the next day because your mind is more clear and you will have more healing of the body and brain everything is cleansed. We are the ones that make ourselves so busy so we think we would be wasting time sleeping. People that sleep less will end up with dementia and are more grumpy and moody.

It sure doesn't help insomniacs to say 8 hours is "nonnegotiable." 🙄 She's a smart lady but that is dumb. We'd give our right arm for 8 hours a night.
