Congo is Burning and so are its people. The M23 rebel group have taken over Goma, a city of strategic imortance to Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. For over three decades, the eastern region of the D.R.C. has been ravaged by war.
Is this the return of Rwandan Genocide?
Hospitals in Goma are overwhelmed.
Casualties are mounting.
And thousands of civilians are fleeing their homes.
It’s a complex web of political, ethnic and economic interests involving neighbouring countries, most notably Rwanda.

These conflicts that’s is going on in The Congo is what has been going on for hundreds of years. Go back to the conquest of Africa when Europeans countries invaded and colonized many African countries did so for the natural resources which helped many Europeans countries in their development and health. Congo with all its vast natural resources is the primary reason why Belgium with the ruthless inhuman treatment of the Congolese by then king Leopard of Belgium was able to erase Belgium’s debts and left the Congo in confusion and chaos and lost of true identity.

The Belgian Congo went through help under colonialism of King Leopold. Then i don't kmow how much military dictatorships. Now this, no generation has escape This is why in 1962 in Ethiopia there was a call at a meeting of most of Africa by Kwane Nkrumah for African Unity. And they should not leave with concrete steps to have one currency and central bank. If they did, a chance of once in a lifetime. They did left without it. Had they did, today this would not have happen. Africa would have a common international currency on par with the euro, the dollar, pound, Chinese yuan. But today Africa is known for conflict and civil war. This shows that Africa has poor leadership. May god help Africa.

Before reporting on a region you have no idea about kindly do your historical research well. I see mainstream media reporting that the Tutsi in Congo are there as a result of 1994 genocide. I would like to bring to your attention that both Tutsis and Hutus have been in existence in Goma -Congo for 100s of years. Belgiums and Germans colonialists governments created a border that hived off Rwanda and Congo where both tribes have lived for 100s of years. The issue of Goma is descrimination of Tutsi and Hutus who are the citizens of that country by birth and ancestry , with central government has been denying the Tutsi and Hutus of Goma their basic rights to representation in national affairs and even development. The central government, has been using the military to forcefully acquire land for foreign entities to mine illegally while sidelining the Goma residents . Hence the uprising of M23. It's been a systematic segregation of these citizens that has culminated to these atrocities and fights recently and over the years. African stories should not be altered. The other narrative being shared by medias is that Kagame is supporting M23. It's all political,anyway thats a story for another day
