Dr Latham has asperger so he is not so good with relationships but he like a lot Connot, their friendship had a lot of good moments, they connect that's why he was hurt when connor said another crazy people as if Connor refers him. Their goodbye was the sadder part.

i don't think there was a lead really as it was more of an ensemble show, but i feel like since he was a fellow + had a lot of different roles with being a surgeon too, he def felt pretty central and 'higher up' than some of the others

A year later, still wondering why they had the need to write him out. Regardless of that, they should really consider bringing him back. I’m sure we would love to see it!!!

Looking online, the reason given was that it was a "creative decision", meaning it was a decision made by the creators and not the actor, Colin Donnell. To me, it seems that they weren't sure what direction to take the character in, and also recognised that the show needed change. On the bright side, the showrunners have since said that, should Donnell want to return, they would welcome him with open arms and try again. (Which might be a while as he has since welcomed a child in the time since he left)

Zara Reacts Ava (his ex girlfriend) killed herself because she killed Connors dad and didn’t want to go to prison i guess. Bad memories of both his dad and Ava’s death drove his decision to leave. If you mean why he left the show it’s because the writers fired him for “creative reasons.”
