Daktari, good points you're raising here. I remember during the recent demolitions in Athi River, people were all over social media mocking the victims for "being stupid" not doing proper due diligence. I pointed out how strange it is that victims get blamed for criminal acts done against them. If I pay my taxes and all levies diligently, why should I then take it upon myself to make sure that documents I get from a government office are genuine? Why do I pay taxes then? Shouldn't we say then that there's no need to pay taxes and we keep that money to pay militias and vigilante groups to protect our interests?
@carlingari885011 ай бұрын
Except in this case they didn't get their titles through the normal route. The blame is on them. Portland had even issued caveats on the land. You can't treat buying land the same as buying milk from a kiosk. When someone tells you, "Even though the land has issues, we are insiders and already have titles. We also have inside information about when the land is going to be fully transferred and that it's just a matter of time," and you go ahead and make the purchase, you're the idiot.

Kenyans expect concrete actions to move the nation forward into a pedestal of integrity, targeting public/private office holders. We also expect to see EACC rolling out programs in all learning institutions - programs that promote decent values and leadership integrity. We expect more from such a well funded office.

what Bishop did in the overall governance system at CITAM,, will give you a clear idea of the great capability he has in changing the ethics, governance system in kenya if given space,,, but Kenya am afraid is not salvageable,,, probably praying and trusting God everyone is saved, then the change will come automatically,, i believe that is the only way Bishop can bring about change, he should go the gospel/spiritual way,, that is why i think his role should transform to one one of sensitization/preaching,,, the use of force, arrests/charges cant work in kenya as it is, the judiciary itself is in the quagmire.

There is something Bwana Muga hinted at that may get to the crux of the matter. He talked of how teachers were well respected and esteemed people in the society of yore and how this has been degraded and devalued over time. I think our moral decline is tied in with paying our teachers peanuts, giving them a poor working environment and an unclear and overstretched education system.

So when a junior state officer hides your pension file so you can bribe to get your hard earned pension, is that top or bottom? Are you aware that even the top are facilitated by junior hence the top do not sign anything and it gets hard to nail the ‘top’ in legal processes? Read Konza city judgement where the judge explains this phenomenon clearly where Muthama and ‘famous’ Ndemo got away with obvious they hide while juniors git nailed and jailed. Corruption should be hit from all levels. Obsession with top is a fallacy of politics inclined mindsets. Top cannot steal so easily without that procurement official who factors corruption in the bidding process; without that accountant who finds creative ways to release money and present payments as normal; without that bank official who ho does not report suspicious payments or withdrawals because the money is processed by bank at some point…
@petergitau449211 ай бұрын
If we are serious about eliminating corruption in Kenya, we must first acknowledge that corruption does not start at the highest level! It starts at home! Presidents, governors and all other "leaders" come from homes! Especially Christian homes! When the parents are buying favorable exam results, what are they teaching their children? They are teaching them that for as long as you have money, you can get anything you want. You don't have to work hard for it like other people. You can get away with injustice or anything else! Just get money in whichever way you can! Even if it means stealing it, killing for it, etc! A terrible teaching that has been going on for years in Kenya! We are now paying for it! You want to change the future of the country? Change the way things are done at homes! Otherwise we will sing the same song till Christ returns!!!!
