Don Bushnell, Ph.D., was a beloved founding Human and Organizational Development faculty member at Fielding Graduate University. He served as the founding dean of Fielding’s School of Human Development, mentoring faculty for many years, and co-created the Center for Innovation in the Nonprofit Sector. Today, we honored his legacy by celebrating what would have been his 97th birthday on Jan. 7, 2024!
When he turned 91, his birthday wish was to raise $10,000 for Fielding students to support research in organizational and social change, which was a passion of Dr. Bushnell. We commemorated Dr. Bushnell on Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET in an hour of storytelling and celebration with emcee Dr. Thyonne Gordon, Fielding alum and Board Chair Pacifica Graduate Institute and Provost Emerit Anna DiStefano, Ed.D., who told the “fish” story.
