The story was broadcast on KXTV, TV10 Eyewitness News, Sacramento/Stockton which sponsored Dr. Don's visit to Stockton.

I was a Delta College student at the time, and remember the HUGE crowd at the Gemco (now Target) lot a block away. It's partly because of D.D.R. that I became a DJ. We miss ya, Dr. Don!

In 1979 Dr. Don's engineer had a traveling disco show. He brought Dr. Don to Ukiah to host a show. I was a young dj who got to meet the legend. Dr. Don spent almost an hour talking with me. What an experience!

Years before Dr. Don Rose, KSFO’s Don Sherwood used to make fun of Stockton and he took took over Stockton. I worked at KWIN in Stockton. The city has a great sense of humor.

Hi Johnny! Yep, remember it well. The sturgeon was parked on the NW corner where there used to be a 76 gas station. It was the Gemco parking lot back then. It's Target now. Don was the best ever. The best jock that ever lived, a super guy, a great dad, and a wonderful friend. I miss him every day.
