This is my favorite song on The Chronic. That beat is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. The whole G Funk sounds is inspired by Parliament/Funkadelic and the whole funko movement. George Clinton loved it so he was in on a lot of the videos and sometimes the production. The reason a lot of these beats don't sound like samples is bc Dre used to get musicians to replay the songs so they fit what his beasts better. I think he was one of the first producers in hip hop to do that.
@k-specs4 жыл бұрын
The sample for this song is from the song “Mothership Connection(Star child)” by parliament- around the 5:26-5:43 minute mark

Cold 187’um from Above The Law invented G Funk. Do some homework on him. His hardest beat is Above The Law - Black Superman imo
@ThePattypizzle4 жыл бұрын
Black superman is their most popular song but honestly I dont think its cold 187um's best production.... I prefer some of his productions from kokane's ''funk upon a rhyme'' album then black superman. That album had some sick beats. Cold 187um is truly underappreciated considering he is arguably the creator of g-funk music. RIP KMG
@flaquis27294 жыл бұрын
@@ThePattypizzle Man I'm glad you know about Funk upon a rhyme. That is a classic underground album, but I put the production on Legends on top.
@ThePattypizzle4 жыл бұрын
@@flaquis2729 yeah man Im glad I got that funk upon a rhyme cd at a good price from a friend, I feel bad for the person who wants to start collecting g-funk cds nowadays $$$!!! yeah that legends album had some good stuff on it, I think my personal favorite is ''soul searching'', love that vibe. But man that album cover always made me laugh lolll. Its safe to say the best album cover from above the law and one of the best hip hop album covers (the artwork) ever is ''Uncle Sams Curse''. But I think my favorite above the law album period is black mafia life. The process of elimination with mc ren! that agressive west coast g funk, off the hook! too bad the bass couldve been mixed a bit better, that bass is all over the place when you bump it loud! Respect my man!

a lot of this was sampled from Mothership Connection By Parliament-Funkadelic. They have had a ton of influence on the west coast, theres a chance a lot of ur favorite west coasts songs had their influence. As for the Ice Cube cameo, this was made right after him and Dre were cool again and started working together not long after. Good video, i suggest you check out The Watcher by Dr Dre and the 2nd part by Jay Z that features Dre and Rakim

YES MY REQUEST I know others requested it too but I've been requesting it for a while. Also there is a slightly linger version of the video. It basically just has Dre chilling at his crib being Dre but it's pretty funny you saw a quick second of it before the best dropped. I'm kinda Glad Snoop wasn't on this one because hes on a lot of the other tracks on the album. Its damn near a Jount album. Don't let anyone convince you Dre is not a good rapper. This album to me is the best rap album in history from front to back there are no bad songs. The production was ground breaking and sounds phenomenal. The features include Snoop, DOC, Daz, Kurupt, Lady of Rage, Warren G, RBX, Nate Dogg. I was 17 when this dropped and i still listen to it today. The best song to me on the album is Lil Ghetto Boy. Illmatic, Life After Death, Reasonable Doubt, All Eyez on Me round out my top 5 in no particular order. Honorable Mention to Liquid Swords, Pauls Boutique, Get Rich or Die Tryin, Enter the 36 Chambers. My list don't hate i respect your opinions if you disagree. We all have our own tastes.
